AutoCAD MEP is an add on to the existing AutoCAD to create 2D drawings and diagram using included MEP symbols. It's very good for someone who is already familiar with AutoCAD and wants to work in designing 2D drawings.

Really liked the MEP toolset workspace which gives ample workspace environment (electrical, HVAC, plumbing etc).

AutoCAD MEP is good only if we want to create only 2D DWG files. I will prefer Revit MEP for this drawback as it will allow me to create full 3D modeling.

Although everything has prons and cons likewise AutoCAD MEP also has a dislike point which is that the views are placed in layouts, those views cannot be externally referenced into other drawings without exporting the layout. basically there nothing much of problem that we are facing . its when you get the know the product . we can't really complain about it . so basically its a good software . but some time when we use multiple file sometimes the system getting stuck even though we use i 5 8 GM laptops. so its seems like it use lots of memory . and another thing it is hard to copy the drawing to the MS package, but cant complain there is other way that we can import the drawing after saving . AutoCAD (MEP) possess a great scope of employability in designing, manufacturing planning, building designing, civil infrastructure, and construction. Its tools for making 2-Dimensional drawings, drafts, and documents, also, 3-Dimensional models and their visualizations are terrific. Also, when it comes to design 3-D models and visualizations, operator can add accessories like lighting and materials to their 3-Dimensional models in order to get a more real-life like view.

There is nothing much to dislike about the software, but yes, certainly improvements can be done in order to make it more better. The platform demands high system configuration with at least 8GBs of Ram to operate efficiently for the latest released variant. The process of editing text column is cumbersome to manage and configure. Scope of improvement is there in the rendering feature. In Autocad MEP there are so much tools that helps in modeling and drafting at very precise level, which in normally not seen in other MEP softwares. In my view , I like that while modeling of Gravity systems , the slope of pipes are maintained as we given from starting while as comparing with revit the modeling of slope systems is very difficult task. In Autocad MEP , the one foremost thing that I dislike most is that for modeling we need to import a sevice file , and if that service file is changed by client or there is slight changes in service file , then we have to start the modeling from scratch which is very frustrating. AutoCAD is an outstanding Design, Drafting and Editing platform that enables the user to work on both the 2-Dimensional and 3-Dimensional aspects. It's more like a digital pen and paper, with the help of the AutoCAD versatile features drawing is very easy, simple and quite fast. It is very fast and convenient to use since one can operate the software just by giving the commands through the keyboard. One more method is there in which the commands are selected by the icons of one's tools. One can draw his plans in a very innovative and excellent way since the software is largely dedicated for that. One easily edit thickness of the lines, their type, color and all their properties. It incorporates very powerful tools such as geolocalization and it even displays satellite maps.

There is very little to complain about the software but working in 3-Dimension is a very hectic and uncomfortable task in the AutoCAD especially the visualization.

Some of the commands are not present in workspace and some of their functions are not specified, It is very rigid and lacks flexibility, not very flexible. Some tools are so complex to learn for a less experienced user, it requires to lot of knowledge, effort and energy to command the software. Printing process and scale formatting is very tedious to come to the anticipated result. It requires a system of very high configuration to run the software smoothly, the time taken by software in initial loading in quite high, aslo some of its versions have compatibility issues with the operating system.
