What do you like best about ControlD?

I love the ability to block ads and tracking elements. The ability to block individual services is useful, which helps with productivity. For an additional fee, you can use the proxy option. As a developer, I appreciate the ability to overwrite records, making hosts files a thing of the past. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ControlD?

Sometimes there are problems with fast updating blocking lists or long long latency from DNS. Instead, there is nothing that support is not willing to help with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best DNS platform I ever used"

What do you like best about ControlD?

Onboarding was exteremely easy, deployed ControlD on ~80 devices in a matter of minutes (with some basic API scripting). UI is very easy to understand, and looks rather unique relative to other DNS services I used before (dnsfilter, umbrealla). Despite the simplicity of the UI, the features are quite powerful. Not doing anything revoluntary, just blocking malware, social networks, and porn, and it works great.

Fiddinling with their "redirection" feature which masks the IP of the client from various services, its pretty cool, but have yet to find a use case for it except for some of our marketing folks that really love it because they don't need to use a VPN anymore. What do you dislike about ControlD?

Pretty much nothing. The Analytics feature could use some improvement to provide better insights, but I spoke to Yegor and it's already on their roadmap. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is ControlD solving and how is that benefiting you?

We wanted to block malicious domains from resolving, pretty standard stuff. Additionally block some time wasting services so people actually get some work done :)

Also gain visibility on what things are being accessed by our staff and make sure we don't have any misbhevaing devices on our network that do things they shouldn't be doing. We use pfsense on the network and the DNS daemon they have works quite well, and was very easy to install - 1 command to copy/paste. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about ControlD?

Controld makes it easy to have more privacy online, block websites that the kids should not have access to, block malware and other various threats, and block ads and trackers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ControlD?

There is a bit of learning curve and depending on how much control that you want over your internet access, there will be some sites that get blocked that shouldn't. This is expected, but some people may not like having to whitelist sites that are blocked inadvertently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What I love most about ControlD is how it seamlessly enhances my online experience without the need for any additional app installations.
