Tidal is the perfect solution to schedule our jobs in an automated fashion. Before Tidal, we used CRON (default UNIX scheduler); it was minimal and required many additional Unix jobs to manipulate the schedule. Tidal gave us much more flexibility in scheduling; it includes variables and calendars, and dependencies, all of which were much more difficult to use before Tidal. I am using the tool for the last 4 years. Started with 5.x version and now working on 6.3.3 version. The ease with which you can develop and schedule jobs is likeable. Variety of calendars that you can customize is what I like as well. The different types of adaptors available is really helpful to schedule jobs in various applications. STA group is really working great on improving this tool more and more. Waiting to use the 6.5 version where we can get rid of the Client Manager Database and instead use in memory cache.
