It’s almost time for the NBA to get its 2025-26 season underway, though this year will look a little different for fans. Tuesday marks the beginning of the league’s new 11-year media deal with Disney, NBCUniversal and Prime Video. It’ll further advance the NBA’s pursuit to grow its digital presence through exclusive games on Peacock and Prime Video. However, the deal magnifies an already pressing issue affecting sports fans: fragmentation and the frustration of not knowing where to find a game. We detail how some of the NBA’s partners are addressing those concerns: https://lnkd.in/eetGmQJs

The seemingly infinite number of streaming services leads to a paradox of choice for consumers. It's no secret that fragmentation is an issue content creators, programmers and pay TV providers are hoping to fix sooner rather than later, but how might they solve it? See what NCTC's Lou Borrelli and AMC Networks' Kimberly Kelleher had to say💭 https://lnkd.in/eMArVPBb

About those FCC data breach regulations... In August, a court ruled 2-1 in favor of upholding the agency's order. NCTA - The Internet & Television Association, USTelecom | The Broadband Association, CTIA and others were rallying against it, and they filed a motion for a rehearing following the decision. Now, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals is hitting the pause button, allowing the FCC to reassess the challenged order. We have the latest: https://lnkd.in/e9C9qgRD

See my October Cablefax Column "O'Rielly's TMT Whiteboard." This month is a book review of "The End of Telecoms History." While I don't endorse the work, authors Roberson and Webb raise interesting and provocative points on the slowing growth rates of US and global broadband network usage. https://lnkd.in/eKUiQaRJ
