Celebrating 50 Years of the Lotus Esprit On our screens and on our roads. 50 years ago the world was introduced to the Lotus Esprit. Designed by the legendary Giorgetto Giugiaro and engineered by Lotus under Colin Chapman’s guidance, the Esprit became an expression of our dedication to handling, performance and forward-thinking design. The Esprit went on to become an icon of British engineering and redefined what a sports car could be. From the first S1 of the ’70s to the powerful later Series, the Esprit’s evolution spanned decades of design and innovation. Join us this week as we celebrate the story of the Lotus Esprit. We are proudly partnering with London Design Festival to premiere an exclusive new Lotus exhibition.   Drawing from the Digital, Natural, Analogue (D.N.A.) design principles that shape the award-winning Theory 1, the exhibition will take a rare look at experimental materials, components, and prototypes from the Lotus archive.   Also on show will be select collaborations with leading creative partners, showcasing the wider influence of our design ethos beyond the world of automotive.
