On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we recognize the deep cultural heritage and leadership of Indigenous communities. We’re proud to support long-term resilience with our Tribal partners through education, entrepreneurship and community-driven initiatives. One example is the DreamCatcher program - a hands-on business training experience for Native American women entrepreneurs. Funded by Freeport and delivered by Arizona State University’s Thunderbird School of Global Management, DreamCatcher helps participants turn their ideas into thriving businesses and build momentum for their communities. Thanks to a grant from the Freeport-McMoRan Foundation and the support of volunteers from Climax Molybdenum’s Fort Madison, Iowa site, seventh graders left the classroom and explored the nearby Mississippi River backwaters for a hands-on science experience. Students learned about endangered freshwater mussels, water quality and conservation – all in an outdoor classroom. This is the fourth year Climax’s Fort Madison operation has supported this program with Lee County Conservation, helping students connect with nature, science and their own backyard in unforgettable ways. After devastating floods hit Miami and Globe, Ariz., our Miami operations continue to respond with equipment, personnel and financial assistance to help the communities recover. As soon as the flood waters receded, Freeport crews started using heavy equipment to clear debris from roads, homes and businesses and handed out shovels, wheelbarrows and even pizzas to those affected. In addition to the on-the-ground support, the Freeport-McMoRan Foundation has committed $50,000 to the United Fund of Globe-Miami and will match employee donations to the fund for the recovery effort. Mark Albertsen, General Manager of Miami Operations summed it up best: “Freeport stands with the community because we are the community. Supporting each other through tough times isn’t just what we do—it’s who we are.” #WeAreFreeportMcMoRan

Charlie Garcia was ready for a career change and found the support he needed through the Guarantee Your Future with Freeport scholarship program. A former construction mechanic and father of two, he is now building a better future for himself with a degree in Automated Industrial Technology while interning at our Bagdad, Ariz. site. The Guarantee Your Future with Freeport program, in partnership with Education Forward Arizona, helps students build careers in high-demand trades like welding, process automation and heavy equipment mechanics. We’re proud to support the newly approved 50-year Conservation Benefit Agreement with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service that will help recovery measures in Upper Eagle Creek to protect native fish from their principal threat--non-native fish.      This voluntary agreement helps safeguard endangered fish like spikedace, loach minnow and Gila chub as well as the threatened narrow-headed garter snake. This summer, Freeport’s Bisbee site reopened not for mining, but for mentoring. Through hands-on science and pollinator programs, children in the Boys & Girls Club of Bisbee explored vegetation, erosion and other key aspects of mine reclamation.
