  • How can we build stronger, more beneficial relationships between the public sector and the geospatial industry? The public sector is a unique player in the world of mapping—acting as both a key supplier of data and a major customer of geospatial technology. Fostering this relationship is crucial for innovation and better public services. Join our Public Sector Mapping discussion panel at MapTiler Connect to explore how these partnerships can create win-win outcomes for everyone. Our expert panelists will dive into strategies for collaboration that drive progress. Be part of the conversation between Ragnar Heiðar Þrastarson (Icelandic Meteorological Office), Christian Wohlert (ETH Zurich), and Sebastian Denier (swisstopo), moderated by Jiri Jelinek. • Meet Martin, our Chief Experience Officer and #lifeatmaptiler in action! He’s been part of MapTiler for over eight years, helping shape our teams, culture, and growth from the ground up. 🚀 “They call me Eli, and I’ve been with MapTiler for the past 8 years, starting back in December 2017. My role as Chief Experience Officer (CXO) today is a reflection of a long journey, focused on business, people, and building the teams that make us who we are. My MapTiler adventure began by running sales and customer support single-handedly. Over the years, I successfully built and spun off two stable teams—Sales and Customer Success—passing them onto the right team leaders to thrive independently. I then tackled HR, helping to kickstart our people operations before passing the work on to a dedicated colleague I hired. That journey eventually led me to Marketing and into my current CXO role. Today, I oversee the core business and human resources side of the company. I dedicate significant time to people management while also taking partial responsibility for Finance to secure our healthy growth. Essentially, I manage the resources and the teams that create both our internal and external experience. What truly satisfies me is the process of creation: building something from the ground up, finding the right person to take it over, and then watching them push it further and do it better than I ever could. That successful hand-off—and seeing my colleagues excel—is the most rewarding part of my job. At the same time, I truly value the trust and career development opportunities I’ve been given. Outside of work, you’ll often find me in the kitchen. I’m a passionate cook and eater, with a particular love for Italian cuisine, and I spend a lot of time perfecting the art of a great espresso. If I'm not near the stove or the coffee machine, you can find me on the floorball court or indulging my art side by singing nu-metal. MapTiler is a company full of people who are not just experts in their fields but are genuinely supportive and ambitious. It makes all the difference when you’re building something great together — and sometimes, you even get to cook and share a delicious pasta meal with them!"
