76% of consumers get frustrated when personalization is based on assumptions from past clicks and behavior. While ONLY 36% of companies actually use zero-party survey data to personalize their messaging. As I prepare for tomorrow’s webinar with Customer.io (let's join us!), this GAP really strikes me. As marketers, we often over-engineer our models and forget the simplest path: just ask customers directly. And then segment based on the attributes/events properties with responses. There are so many good use cases for asking the prospect/customer directly rather than assuming based on clicks, behavior in the app or website.
