Enabling anyone to build and grow software businesses with AI

About us

Woz is an AI platform that enables anyone to build and grow software businesses - no coding required. Traditionally, starting a software business required technical expertise. Woz eliminates this barrier by providing the AI tools and services needed for non-technical entrepreneurs to build products, go to market and grow their businesses all on one platform without a technical cofounder or inhouse engineering team. Ultimately, Woz aims to be the default platform where millions of AI-enabled entrepreneurs launch and scale businesses.

Woz (YC W25) has raised $6M in seed funding to launch the first AI Product Factory. Woz’s AI Product Factory blends agentic AI, repeatable manufacturing principles, and human oversight to produce business-grade mobile apps at scale. It’s the first system built for seamless AI-human collaboration. Other app builders excel at generating shiny prototypes built upon heaps of spaghetti code that must be thrown away and rebuilt by developers before shipping to production. Woz is different. Our apps are clean, secure, well-structured, and human-readable—ready to serve as the foundation of lasting products and businesses. The result: Woz can generate thousands of production-ready apps in parallel, giving entrepreneurs, SMBs, and global brands access to the same level of engineering once reserved for elite tech companies. Congrats to Brad Eckert and Ben Collins on the raise! withwoz.com

  • Today, we’re announcing our $6M Seed round led by Cervin Ventures with participation from Y Combinator, Burst Capital, Untapped Ventures, MGV.VC, Amino Capital and many prominent angels, including the Lacob Family, co-owners of the Golden State Warriors. Woz is now live and free to try! Join hundreds of other entrepreneurs by building your mobile app today! We’re also introducing Human Assistance, a new plan that gives you direct access to real Woz engineers. When AI hits its limits, real humans are there to help. It’s the perfect blend of AI speed and human expertise, meant to get your app to the finish line and into the App Store. With Woz, any business, no matter the size, can now launch robust, scalable and secure mobile apps they can confidently deliver to customers - no coding or engineering team required. So what are you waiting for? Build your business with Woz.

🚀 From prototype to production — Woz is redefining how businesses build digital experiences. When Taylor Oliver first met Ben Collins and Brad Eckert, he knew they weren’t chasing AI hype.  They were rethinking how real businesses – especially non-technical founders – could leverage AI to build production-grade software that actually works. Many of the early AI app builders can spin up a demo or prototype in minutes, but they weren’t architected to build something that can scale, is secure, and stands up in the real world. That’s where Woz (YC W25) is focused. Woz’s AI factory blends machine speed and capabilities with human craftsmanship – AI agents trained for design, testing, and infrastructure, all overseen by real engineers. The result: digital apps built faster, safer, and smarter. At Cervin Ventures, we’ve long believed the next frontier in enterprise software is AI-enabled productivity – tools that empower anyone to operate like a sophisticated tech company. That’s why we’re proud to lead Woz’s $6M Seed round and back their mission to make building great software as accessible as using it. 👏 Congratulations to Ben, Brad, and the entire Woz team on this milestone – and their latest product release today. • AI-generated code that just compiles can look good in the moment, but it often falls apart at scale. Our CTO, Brad Eckert, just published a piece with Unite.AI on why type safety is the baseline guardrail for building AI apps you can actually trust. The core idea: -Without strict typing, shortcuts pile up until the system collapses -With it, AI shifts into a virtuous cycle where every iteration produces cleaner, more reliable code If you’re building with AI, this article is worth a read. 👉 link in comments

Unlocking the next trillion dollar opportunity: why code quality must be the new benchmark for AI app building Replit, Lovable, and dozens of other AI app builders are optimized to wow you with speed and amaze you with flashy functionality. They excel at building prototypes, demos, and internal tools. The downside of optimizing for quick rewards is that you sacrifice code quality and depth. To move beyond prototypes and build software that is the foundation of lasting products and businesses, we must instead optimize for code quality and robust architecture. Only once AI generated code is both sufficiently high quality  and human understandable can we achieve this. Check out the full blog post by my brilliant cofounder Brad Eckert

  • Today: Low Quality Code limits AI app builders to low risk / low value uses (prototypes, demos, internal tools) To change this and achieve the potential of AI generated software, we must build towards a new benchmark: Code Quality Learn how the Woz team is doing this in the article from Brad Eckert below

Why code quality must be the new benchmark for AI app building At Woz, we’re protesting AI slop. All AI app builders today optimize for speed and flashy demos that look magical but hide brittle code underneath. Inline styles, logic jammed into UI, nothing reusable. It "works" in the moment, but it won’t last. Building the first version is only 1% of the work. The other 99% is debugging, scaling, and maintaining for real users. Good code isn’t sexy — it’s boring, modular, predictable, and easy to understand months later. This takes serious effort. The real benchmark for AI coding: can a developer jump back into the code 6 months later and still understand it? That’s the future we’re building at Woz. Full post below ⬇️

30 Days of Woz #5-8 Woz (YC W25) is built to meet the demanding requirements of serious business use cases (security, scalability, payments, ID verification, etc.) But it turns out, those same high technical standards also make it possible to build less serious things like word puzzles and games. Here are a few of my favorites, inspired by the New York Times Games App: 🟩 #5: Wordle - guess the hidden word in 6 tries 🔢 #6: Sudoku - classic number-placement logic puzzle 🐝 #7: Spelling Bee - build words from 7 letters 🟨 #8: Connections - group 16 words into 4 categories

Inspired by the daily struggle of city street parking. Stop battling street cleaning, meter maids, snow emergencies and book a private parking spot. #3: Latte Love: The easiest way for local businesses to drive repeat visits and reward loyal customers. Because everyone loves free food. #4: StreetSmart: Quickly report city maintenance issues (broken street lights, potholes, litter, etc.) to the appropriate department. 30 Days of Woz kicks off today. For the month of September, we’ll be showcasing a new app built on Woz every single day. From loyalty programs for neighborhood cafés, to social trivia games, to wedding planning tools — people are proving you don’t need to be technical to launch production-grade mobile apps. We’re starting with a personal favorite: App #1: FreeBnB - everything you love about Airbnb, without the 15% take rate. I love Airbnb and use it often, but in the age of AI, there’s no reason marketplaces should be skimming 15% off every transaction. Woz makes it possible for local, lower-cost alternatives to emerge — driving down costs for users and opening the door to new business model innovation. This is a glimpse of how AI will drive deflation, competition, and everyday wins for consumers.
