LinkedIn enables members to find their contacts and discover new people to connect with in many different ways. Your profile may appear in LinkedIn search results and on search tools or other services off LinkedIn.
Some sections of your profile may appear off LinkedIn when people search for you using search tools, like Google or Bing. Additionally, some sections of your profile may appear in approved services—for example, to display information from member profiles to users with whom they exchange emails. Learn more about how to control your profile visibility off LinkedIn below:
-
Search tools- You can opt out of appearing on search tools or you can determine what sections of your profile are eligible to appear through your public profile. Users of search tools can enter search terms such as your name and company to discover you.
-
Other services off LinkedIn - We enable certain affiliates, partners, customers, and other permitted developers to display member profile information. This helps users learn more about people they're interacting with by showing elements of members' profiles. You can control if other users are able to look up your profile from your email address or phone number using your discover by email setting and your discover by phone setting. To control if your profile is visible at all off LinkedIn, you can edit your Profile discovery and visibility setting.
Note: Changing the Profile discovery and visibility setting doesn’t limit visibility of your public profile (for example, on search tools), which can be controlled by the public profile setting. It also doesn’t limit the ability for Page owners to export your profile data and individual interactions with their Page, if you permit such access via the Page owners exporting your data setting.
