At LinkedIn, we want to provide you the help you need, where and when you need it. Our AI-assisted help experiences are designed to provide answers to your questions quickly and where you need them, so you can achieve your goal in whatever you’re trying to do.

Who can use this feature?

We’re gradually releasing AI-assisted help features in our LinkedIn Help Centers and our  in-product help, and you might not have access to all features at this time.

Our AI-assisted help experiences include: 

  • Chat using our help assistant 
  • Semantic search 
  • Proactive search query suggestions 
  • AI summary

Important to know

Our AI-assisted help experiences are powered by an AI LLM (Large Language Model). While our goal is to provide accurate content, the information provided by our AI-assisted help experiences could potentially be limited or contain some inaccuracies. We recommend that you use the links provided to learn more.


Any responses related to topics outside of LinkedIn's products and services are generated based on the AI model’s analysis of publicly available internet content and do not necessarily reflect the views or endorsements of LinkedIn. 

Help assistant

Help assistant is our AI chat experience where you can ask questions and get answers about our LinkedIn products. You can access help assistant from the  in-product question icon in each of the available LinkedIn products or from the LinkedIn Help Center. 

To access help assistant from the Help Center:

  1. Sign in to your LinkedIn account. You must be signed in to your LinkedIn account to use help assistant. 

  2. Go to your product’s Help Center. Keep in mind, help assistant can only answer questions about the product from its respective help center. For example, help assistant can only answer questions about LinkedIn Learning from the Learning Help Center.

  3. Select Start chat in the right pane.

  4. If applicable, provide the requested information and enter your question in the message field.

  5. After you ask your question, help assistant will:    

    • Answer your question by summarizing information from trusted LinkedIn sources, such as the LinkedIn Help Center and LinkedIn Learning Center.    
    • Provide a link for more information about your answer or the topic.

You can also access chat help from the  in-product question icon in each LinkedIn product.

Help assistant for paid products

If you’ve purchased a product from LinkedIn, you can also speak to a live consultant from help assistant. Advertisers can also chat with a consultant through Campaign Manager.

To speak to a consultant for your paid product:

  1. In your chat, you can type a phrase like “transfer to a consultant” or “I need to talk to someone” and you’ll be transferred to a consultant on our support team.

  2. We’ll ask you a few follow-up questions to better understand your question before transferring you to a consultant to help you get the answer you need quickly.

There’s an indicator when you’re in the AI chat experience or when you’re chatting with a live consultant.

Semantic search

Semantic search is an AI-assisted search feature that goes beyond matching specific search keywords. It interprets your search terms as you’re typing to understand the context and intent. This allows you to search using natural language and helps us provide more relevant search results.

Proactive search query suggestions

Proactive search query suggestions is an AI-assisted feature that allows you to type a question into the search bar using natural language and predicts what your question might be. It provides a recommended list to choose from as you’re typing and dynamically updates suggestions as you enter your search.

AI summary 

AI summary uses AI to automatically generate a short answer to your question after entering it into the search bar. You’ll have the option to select from provided links to learn more.
