The web build can have problems with lags and audio glitches. The most stable experience is the downloadabe.
The web version is a post-jam version. If you want to rate it for ludum dare, play the "nightfall_jam_submission". Otherwise the better experience is the post-jam build. Post jam has better balance, a few bugfixes, some improved sounds, an interactive ending scene and map layout, but nothing fundamentally different gameplay or narrative wise.
Nightfall
You are an old god, reduced to a single, pulsating heart - a hollow shell - waiting to be made whole.
Venture into a creepy forest to harvest strange resources and meet broken people: soothe them, exploit them, or take them by force.
Back at your cliffside base, repel the oozing pests that crawl from the forest and protect your heart.
Gather six souls and reforge your body... or let your shell wither.

One of my new favorite games! Absolutely a gem and replaying felt like building on past runs. Typically not my kind of game, but it was such a nice surprise :D
I love this game, it has such amazing vibes! unfortunately, I cannot get past day 5... The enemy stacking is cool, but I always find that when I try to hit them I lag and can only hit them every 5 seconds. I'm not sure if this is a browser thing or what-
or maybe im just bad at surviving
If you haven't upgraded the gun or found the gun, you need to! I've gotten to around Day 6 without breaking a sweat that way.
If the gun is only letting you hit every 5 secs, then it might be lag.
A truly creepy and eerie experience! To be honest, I loved everything about this game, the story the music...Nice work!!
I actually LOVED this game, really fun and the characters all felt unique and interesting. I had an audio stuttering issue which maybe was because I was playing on the browser instead of the download? Either way thought you should know. The funniest thing is when you accidentally shoot a character, and when you talk to them again, they show up with a headshot. XD I love it! >_<
Cool game, really enjoyed the atmosphere and gameplay. Would love to play something expanded from this with trees regrowing and shifting monuments and such.
I loved the atmosphere and really liked the gameplay, it didn't feel like endless farming and building infinite skill points, all the upgrades were for a reason and did make a difference, I only got one ending. I admite it gave me chills, and that's great
With F1 you can open a cheat menu panel. Makes it easier to play this game.
If someone is on Chromebook, like me, holding the search key then pressing the arrow facing the left will also open cheats! I just wanted to add this here in case anyone else is struggling.

bippin yet again you do not disappoint. this has to be my favorite one of yours yet. I had to go back and make sure there was actually only one ending because the final line of dialogue made me think oh fuck I didn't wait long enough.
LOVED the game!! The atmosphere is amazing, the gameplay isn't boring at all and the different characters are amazing. only complaint is the towers being too op and not having to defend at all at a certain point. Keep it up!!

How are you engaging the enemies? With the axe? Did you get any upgrades? I'm trying to see how i can tune the game to stay a challenge while not being frustrating.
I was fighting them with only the axe for the first few days before I got the update, and over the days they accumulated and killed me (I'm bad at arrow keys lol) but rest assured it wasn't frustrating. After getting the upgrades I managed to stay alive and beat the game in one go.

I love this art. The soundtrack is spot on. There must be more!
Good game. The vibe of the game is similar to the Darkwood. The music evokes a sense of mysticism, something ancient, forgotten, and powerful. The reworked ending is good too, adds atmosphere and generally makes the ending more enjoyable. The game takes about 30 minutes to complete, or even less if you're lucky and don't get lost in the forest. It would be interesting to see a more polished version with more content.

I liked the game, the echo of a shotgun in the forest was a remarkable.
This was a superb little game. So much atmosphere and theme in something so short, yet so evocative.
I thoroughly enjoyed that little experience and would love to see more come out of it!

Nice game! Managed it on the 2nd try. The healer killing you twice with no warning was a bit annoying, thats why I needed two tries.
