If it is linked to your account, and it is Activation-Locked, that would imply that

  • Your boyfriend knows your Apple ID and Apple ID password.
  • You can clear the Activation Lock yourself, assuming that he has not changed the password and locked you out of your Apple Account.

You may want to secure your Apple Account right away.

You probably just need to take the notebook out of Lost Mode by entering your password – rather than actually removing it from your Apple Account and then re-adding it.

Well apparently he has it linked to his icloud also.because the activation lock is under his icloud

That means it is his account that is signed into the device as the owner. That can only happen with physical control of the device and cannot be done remotely. If you previously had your account signed in, it would require your password to remove your account, then he could add his account on the Mac.

If you still see the device in your device list, it just means that a service on that device such as iMessage, FaceTime, AppleTV, or Media & Purchases has signed into your account. It does not mean that you are the owner of the device who has their Apple Account signed in at Settings > [name on top]. That is the Apple Account used for Find My and what locks the device to the account.

🤣 I love your assumption here. Apple got me back in. Have the best of days!

That is great news! We only have the information you provided to work with and that was that the device was Activation Locked to his account. This is the screen that says the device is Locked to Owner requiring you to enter the Password of the account to proceed.

Sir/maam...im well aware of the screen being locked to his icloud account..but what you fail to realize is ive been using this device for awhile..and im the one who activated it...whether or not he brought it does not declare it his property, i.e being a gift! Your very wrong on ypur assumptive bases as to how my icloud is linked to it or the laws of gifting i assume..idk. but I have lots of data and records through apple on this device as well as records and burden of proof..i thank you for your time..stay blessed!
