Targets for data migration
AWS Database Migration Service (AWS DMS) can use many of the most popular databases as a target for data replication. The target can be on anĀ Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) instance, an Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS) instance, or an on-premises database.
For a comprehensive list of valid targets, see Targets for AWS DMS.
Note
AWS DMS doesn't support migration across AWS Regions for the following target endpoint types:
-
Amazon DynamoDB
-
Amazon OpenSearch Service
-
Amazon Kinesis Data Streams
Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL Limitless is available as a target for AWS Database Migration Service (AWS DMS). For more information see Using a PostgreSQL database as a target for AWS Database Migration Service.
