Pressing shift only updates when you update the window

Repro steps:

• Open window
• Hover over entrance ('Connection') button
• Press and hold "Shift"

Expected result: All locations reachable within 2 steps should light up immediately, without needing to move the cursor. The same goes for releasing shift, then the reachable locations should restore to their previous view.

Actual result: The locations only update when you hold shift and move the cursor a bit
