`[[[.Origin]]]` API Error for Embedded Comments?

Hi there! I set up Comentario on a VPS, installing it from the .deb (v3.9.0). It's set up at comments.mysite.com.

I made my account and added mysite.com, which is hosted on Netlify. I copied the script, which with my example names would be:

<script defer src="https://comments.mysite.com/comentario.js"></script>
<comentario-comments></comentario-comments>

But after adding it to my post page, I'm getting this message instead of the Comentario embed:

Oh no, Comentario failed to start.

If you own this website, you might want to look at the browser console to find out why.

The console lists:

comentario.js:1     
        GET https://mysite.com/first-post/[[[.Origin]]]/api/embed/i18n/en/messages 404 (Not Found)

I don't quite understand what the GET request is about. I'm thinking it's trying to ask my VPS for comments for my post page? But not sure beyond that with it being mysite.com. That doesn't seem right.

If someone could help point me in the right direction of what is or might be going wrong, I would very much appreciate it. I just am not quite sure where to try to focus any tinkering to try to fix it.
