It's appropriate for the other-installations page. The problem, though: it's massively vertical, and that's not changeable. Rather than letting it eat up a lot of vertical space on the page, what if we float it on the right-hand side of the page? This isn't a standard approach, but this image is better (IMO) as a flowed element than a full-page element. --- README.md | 11 ++--------- docs/installation_options.md | 6 ++++++ 2 files changed, 8 insertions(+), 9 deletions(-) diff --git a/README.md b/README.md index 056a26927..870525dee 100644 --- a/README.md +++ b/README.md @@ -16,7 +16,6 @@ GLab is an open source GitLab CLI tool bringing GitLab to your terminal next to - [Documentation](#documentation) - [Installation](#installation) - [Homebrew](#homebrew) - - [Linux packages](#linux-packages) - [Other installation methods](#other-installation-methods) - [Building from source](#building-from-source) - [Prerequisites for building from source](#prerequisites-for-building-from-source) @@ -96,12 +95,6 @@ Homebrew is the officially supported package manager for macOS, Linux, and Windo - Install with: `brew install glab` - Update with: `brew upgrade glab` -### Linux packages - -On Linux, you can also install `glab` from community-maintained repositories - as a [snap package](https://snapcraft.io/glab) or from your distro's repositories: - -[![Packaging status in Linux distributions](https://repology.org/badge/vertical-allrepos/glab-gitlab-cli.svg)](https://repology.org/project/glab-gitlab-cli/versions) - ### Other installation methods Other options to install the GitLab CLI that may not be officially support or are maintained by the community are [also available](docs/installation_options.md). @@ -153,8 +146,8 @@ To authenticate your installation of `glab` with a personal access token: from a file: `glab auth login --stdin < myaccesstoken.txt` - For self-managed instances, authenticate by reading from a file: `glab auth login --hostname gitlab.example.com --stdin < myaccesstoken.txt`.
