Regression: up/down keys not working in top search box

Before 8.7.0, I switched projects by hitting s, followed by the project name, ↓ and Enter.

Since 8.7.0, the first item of the dropdown menu isn't activated by hitting ↓ after typing the search term. Depending on the current page, hitting Tab twice or three times activates the first dropdown item.
