Related merge request spinner on commit pipeline page spins forever

Summary

The box that shows related merge requests for a commit loads when the Commit tab is selected on the commit page, but it never loads on the Pipelines page.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Find a commit that has a pipeline enabled - <repo>/commit/<hash>/pipelines
  2. The related merge requests field never loads

The related merge request spinner loads forever

The field indicated either "No related merge requests found" or the related merge requests, as it does here

This bug happens on GitLab.com as well as our self-hosted environment

Possible fixes

It seems that on the commit page "merge_requests.json" is loaded via AJAX, but this request never occurs on the pipelines page, and thus the spinner is never replaced with the correct content.
