Netflix supported browsers and system requirements

You can create an account and watch Netflix using one of the below web browsers on your computer, iPad, or Meta Quest headset.

Supported web browsers

If you're having trouble signing up, signing in, or watching Netflix and you're using one of the web browsers listed above, you might need to update your computer, mobile device, or browser to meet Netflix's system and browser requirements (see below).

System and browser version requirements

Select your device to see the minimum requirements for watching Netflix.

To watch Netflix, your Windows computer must have Windows 10 or Windows 11 installed.

Computers with Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 might still work, but Netflix will only play in Standard Definition (SD) video quality.

Your browser version must be:

Additional requirements

  • To use Safari 14, your Mac needs to be on macOS 11 or later.

  • To watch live events on Netflix, Safari 15 or later is required.

  • To watch in Ultra HD, your Mac needs to be on macOS 11 or later and should meet these Ultra HD requirements. (Mac computers that are on macOS 10.15 will play in up to Full HD.)

To watch Netflix, your Chromebook must have ChromeOS 76 or later installed.

You can watch Netflix on some computers with GNU/Linux operating systems (OS).

Due to the many configurations of Linux, we can't guarantee Netflix will work on devices with a Linux OS and may have issues. Netflix Customer Support isn't able to help with troubleshooting devices with a Linux OS.
