    XcodeGen

    XcodeGen

A Swift command line tool for generating your Xcode project

XcodeGen is a command line tool written in Swift that generates your Xcode project using your folder structure and a project spec. The project spec is a YAML or JSON file that defines your targets, configurations, schemes, custom build settings and many other options. All your source directories are automatically parsed and referenced appropriately while preserving your folder structure. Sensible defaults are used in many places, so you only need to customize what is needed. Very complex projects can also be defined using more advanced features. Generate projects on demand and remove your .xcodeproj from git, which means no more merge conflicts! Automatically generate Schemes for different environments like test and production. Share build settings across multiple targets with build setting groups. Easily copy and paste files and directories without having to edit anything in Xcode.

    SwiftFormat

    SwiftFormat

A command-line tool and Xcode Extension for formatting Swift code

SwiftFormat is a code library and command-line tool for reformatting Swift code on macOS or Linux. SwiftFormat goes above and beyond what you might expect from a code formatter. In addition to adjusting white space, it can insert or remove implicit self, remove redundant parentheses, and correct many other deviations from the standard Swift idioms. Many programmers have a preferred style for formatting their code, and others seem entirely blind to the existing formatting conventions of a project. When collaborating on a project, it can be helpful to agree on a common coding style, but enforcing that manually is tedious and error-prone, and can lead to arguments if some participants take it more seriously than others. Having a tool to automatically enforce a common style eliminates those issues, and lets you focus on the behavior of the code, not its presentation.

    mas-cli

    mas-cli

Mac App Store command line interface

Mac App Store command line interface. mas-cli is a simple command line interface for the Mac App Store. Designed for scripting and automation. mas requires Swift 5 runtime support. macOS 10.14.4 and later include it, but earlier releases did not. Each application in the Mac App Store has a product identifier which is also used for mas-cli commands. Using mas list will show all installed applications and their product identifiers. It is possible to search for applications by name using mas search which will search the Mac App Store and return matching identifiers. Include the --price flag to include prices in the result. mas is integrated with homebrew-bundle. If mas is installed, and you run brew bundle dump, then your Mac App Store apps will be included in the Brewfile created. See the homebrew-bundle docs for more details. mas operates via the same system services as the Mac App Store.

    BCLM

    BCLM

macOS command-line utility to limit max battery charge

BCLM is a wrapper to read and write battery charge level max (BCLM)/CHWA values to the System Management Controller (SMC) on Mac computers. It supports both Intel and Apple silicon. This project was inspired by several battery management solutions, including Apple's own battery health management. The purpose of limiting the battery's maximum charge is to prolong battery health and to prevent damage to the battery. Various sources show that the optimal charge range for the operation of lithium-ion batteries is between 40% and 80%, commonly referred to as the 40-80 rule [1][2][3]. This project is especially helpful to people who leave their Macs on the charger all day, every day.

    Sourcery

    Sourcery

Meta-programming for Swift, stop writing boilerplate code

Sourcery is a code generator for Swift language, built on top of Apple's own SwiftSyntax. It extends the language abstractions to allow you to generate boilerplate code automatically. It's used in over 40,000 projects on both iOS and macOS and it powers some of the most popular and critically-acclaimed apps you have used (including Airbnb, Bumble, New York Times). Its massive community adoption was one of the factors that pushed Apple to implement derived Equality and automatic Codable conformance. Sourcery is maintained by a growing community of contributors. Try Sourcery for your next project or add it to an existing one, you'll save a lot of time and be happy you did! Sourcery allows you to get rid of repetitive code and create better architecture and developer workflows. An example might be implementing Mocks for all your protocols, without Sourcery you will need to write hundreds lines of code per each protocol.

    SwiftInfo

    SwiftInfo

Extract and analyze the evolution of an iOS app's code

SwiftInfo is a CLI tool that extracts, tracks, and analyzes metrics that are useful for Swift apps. Besides the default tracking options that are shipped with the tool, you can also customize SwiftInfo to track pretty much anything that can be conveyed in a simple .swift script. By default SwiftInfo will assume you're extracting info from a release build and sending the final results to Slack, but it can be used to extract info from individual pull requests as well with the danger-SwiftInfo danger plugin. SwiftInfo extracts information by analyzing the logs that your build system generates when you build and/or test your app. Because it requires these logs to work, SwiftInfo is meant to be used alongside a build automation tool like fastlane. The following topics describe how you can retrieve these logs and setup SwiftInfo itself.
