    Nimble

    Nimble

A Matcher Framework for Swift and Objective-C

Use Nimble to express the expected outcomes of Swift or Objective-C expressions. Inspired by Cedar. Apple's Xcode includes the XCTest framework, which provides assertion macros to test whether code behaves properly. XCTest assertions have a couple of drawbacks. Not enough macros. There's no easy way to assert that a string contains a particular substring, or that a number is less than or equal to another. It's hard to write asynchronous tests. XCTest forces you to write a lot of boilerplate code. Nimble addresses these concerns. Would you like to add more information to the test's failure messages? Use the description optional argument to add your own text. Nimble makes sure you don't compare two types that don't match. Tired of so much typing? With Nimble, you can use overloaded operators like == for equivalence, or > for comparisons.

    SwiftNIO

    SwiftNIO

Network application framework for protocol servers and clients

SwiftNIO is a cross-platform asynchronous event-driven network application framework for rapid development of maintainable high performance protocol servers & clients. Low-level protocol implementations are often a collection of ChannelHandlers that implement a protocol but still require the user to have a good understanding of SwiftNIO. Often, low-level protocol implementations will then be wrapped in high-level libraries with a nicer, more user-friendly API. High-level implementations are usually libraries that come with an API that doesn't expose SwiftNIO's ChannelPipeline and can therefore be used with very little (or no) SwiftNIO-specific knowledge. The implementations listed below do still do all of their I/O in SwiftNIO and integrate really well with the SwiftNIO ecosystem. SwiftNIO aims to support all of the platforms where Swift is supported. Currently, it is developed and tested on macOS and Linux.

    Blueprints

    Blueprints

A framework that is meant to make your life easier

Blueprints is a collection of flow layouts that is meant to make your life easier when working with collection view flow layouts. It comes with two built-in layouts that are highly flexible and easy to configure at the call site. They support properties like items per row and items per column; this will calculate the layout attributes needed for fitting the number of views that you want to appear on the screen. The framework also provides a good base for your custom implementations. By extending the core blueprint layout, you get built-in support for animations and layout attribute caching. The bundled default animator supports animations that look very similar to what you get from a vanilla table view. If you want to provide your collection view animator, no problem; you can inject an animator of your choosing when initializing the layout.

    MultipeerKit

    MultipeerKit

    MultipeerConnectivity + Codable

A high-level abstraction built on top of the MultipeerConnectivity framework, which allows iOS, macOS and tvOS devices to exchange data between them over Wi-Fi networks, peer-to-peer Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. In order for MultipeerKit to work when running on iOS 14, you will have to include two keys in your app's Info.plist file. For the privacy key, include a human-readable description of what benefit the user gets by allowing your app to access devices on the local network. The Bonjour services key is an array of service types that your app will browse for. For MultipeerKit, the entry should be in the format _servicename._tcp, where servicename is the serviceType you've set in your MultipeerConfiguration. If you're using the default configuration, the value of this key should be _MKSVC._tcp.

    PanelKit

    PanelKit

A UI framework that enables panels on iOS.

This framework does all the heavy lifting for dragging panels, pinning them and even moving/resizing them when a keyboard is shown/dismissed. A lot of effort has gone into making the API simple for a basic implementation, yet very customizable if needed. Since PanelKit is protocol based, you don't need to subclass anything in order to use it. A panel is explicitly (without your action) shown in a UINavigationController, but the top bar can be hidden or styled as with any UINavigationController.

    Quick

    Quick

The Swift (and Objective-C) testing framework

Quick is a behavior-driven development framework for Swift and Objective-C. Inspired by RSpec, Specta, and Ginkgo. Quick comes together with Nimble, a matcher framework for your tests. Certain versions of Quick and Nimble only support certain versions of Swift. Depending on which version of Swift your project uses, you should use specific versions of Quick and Nimble. When code doesn't work the way it's supposed to, unit tests should make it clear exactly what's wrong. Nimble makes your test assertions, and their failure messages, easier to read. Nimble provides many different kind of assertions, each with great failure messages. And unlike XCTAssert, you don't have to type your own failure message every time. All documentation can be found in the Documentation folder, including detailed installation instructions for CocoaPods, Carthage, Git submodules, and more.

    RandomKit

    RandomKit

    Random data generation in Swift

RandomKit is a Swift framework that makes random data generation simple and easy. RandomKit is possibly also compatible with FreeBSD, Android, and Windows (under Cygwin) but has not been tested for those platforms. The RandomGenerator protocol defines basic methods for generating primitive values and randomizing a buffer. All provided types that conform to RandomGenerator have a static default value that can be passed as an inout argument to generation functions. The RandomBytesGenerator protocol is for types that specialize in generating a specific type that fills up a number of bytes. For example, MersenneTwister specializes in generating UInt64 while Xorshift generates UInt32 values.

    Carthage

    Carthage

A simple, decentralized dependency manager for Cocoa

Carthage is intended to be the simplest way to add frameworks to your Cocoa application. Carthage builds your dependencies and provides you with binary frameworks, but you retain full control over your project structure and setup. Carthage does not automatically modify your project files or your build settings. Get Carthage by running brew install carthage or choose another installation method. Create a Cartfile in the same directory where your .xcodeproj or .xcworkspace is. List the desired dependencies in the Cartfile. Once you have Carthage installed, you can begin adding frameworks to your project. Note that Carthage only supports dynamic frameworks, which are only available on iOS 8 or later (or any version of OS X). We encourage using XCFrameworks as of version 0.37.0 (January 2021), and require XCFrameworks when building on an Apple Silicon Mac. Switching from discrete framework bundles to XCFrameworks requires a few changes to your project.

    OAuth2

    OAuth2

OAuth2 framework for macOS and iOS, written in Swift

OAuth2 frameworks for macOS, iOS, and tvOS written in Swift 5.0. OAuth2 requires Xcode 10.2, the built framework can be used on OS X 10.11 or iOS 8 and later. Happy to accept pull requests, please see CONTRIBUTING.md. Since the Swift language is constantly evolving I have adopted a versioning scheme mirroring Swift versions: the framework version's first two digits are always the Swift version the library is compatible with, see releases. Code compatible with brand-new Swift versions should be found on a separate feature branch named appropriately. In OAuth2 there are different kinds of flows. This library supports all of them, make sure you're using the correct one for your use-case and authorization server. A typical code grant flow is used for demo purposes below. The steps for other flows are mostly the same short of instantiating a different subclass and using different client settings.

    RxCombine

    RxCombine

    Bi-directional type bridging between RxSwift

RxCombine provides bi-directional type bridging between RxSwift and Apple's Combine framework. This is highly experimental, and basically just a quickly-put-together PoC. I gladly accept PRs, ideas, opinions, or improvements. Check out the Example App in the ExampleApp folder. Run pod install before opening the project. RxCombine provides several helpers and conversions to help you bridge your existing RxSwift types to Combine. Relays and Subjects can be converted to their Combine-counterparts using the toCombine() method, so you can use them as if they are regular Combine Subjects, and have them connected to your existing subjects.

    Spruce iOS Animation Library

    Spruce iOS Animation Library

Swift library for choreographing animations on the screen

Spruce is a lightweight animation library that helps choreograph the animations on the screen. With so many different animation libraries out there, developers need to make sure that each view is animating at the appropriate time. Spruce can help designers request complex multi-view animations and not have the developers cringe at the prototype. To make everything super easy, we currently support both CocoaPods and Carthage. If you want to just do everything yourself without a package manager, checkout our releases page and download the pre-built frameworks there or you can download the exact source from this Github project. Spruce comes packed with UIView extensions meant to make your life easier when calling an animation. Let's say we want to [.fadeIn, .expand(.slightly)] our view. We will call that array of animations ourAnimations. Spruce is entirely written in Swift and currently only supports Swift.
