JGPSTrackEdit
GPS track editor for editing tracks and planning (multiple) day tours
JGPSTrackEdit is a tool for editing gps tracks and planning (multiple days) tours (GPS track editor). An abritary number of tracks may be opened or created, tracks may be merged. A track may be splitted, reversed or edited (e.g. compressed and corrected). Points may be inserted or appended to a track (routing supported) or may be moved or deleted from a track. Maps of several providers are available, the default map is OpenStreetMap. Currently supported track formats: Garmin gpx route, Garmin gpx track, Garmin tcx, kml and plain txt. JGPSTrackEdit my also be used to download tile images for later offline use by smartphone apps. JGPSTrackEdit is written in the java language. With a Plus Code, people can receive deliveries, access emergency and social services, or just help other people find them. Plus Codes technology is open source and free to create and use. They are much shorter than traditional global coordinates, so they’re easy to share. Plus Codes work whether you’re online or offline, you don’t need an internet connection. Plus Codes are based on a set of 20 alphanumeric characters. They do not include easily confused characters, are not case-sensitive, and exclude vowels. Plus Codes represent an area. The resolution of the area can be changed by adding or removing characters after the “+” sign. Simple, free to use, open-source digital addressing, for the entire world. -

Recorded tracks can be exported in KML or GPX format. KML file can be viewed in Google Earth application. Mobile Trail Explorer is mainly targeted for recording biking, hiking etc. trails. Software runs on Java platform so it is supported by many mobile phones. It is required that mobile phone supports Bluetooth connections (JSR 82) for GPS and File connection (JSR 75) for exporting trails to kml files. Application can also render maps from Open Street Map. Maps can be downloaded over-the-air or preloaded to memory card. Other map providers can also be implemented easily in code. -
