EarQuiz Frequencies is a software for ear training on equalization. Its goal is to help musicians, audio professionals, hobbyists and students learn how to hear frequency bands. Available for Windows 10, 11 (x64), macOS 11 or higher (both for Intel and Apple Silicon) and Linux. This application is based on (and deeply inspired by) the world-renowned Golden Ears method of David Moulton, whose course is half dedicated to building this essential critical listening skill. The overall training process involves ongoing learning and testing yourself. In the Learn mode, you listen to the pink noise or music (or other external audio) excerpts with switched off and on 1-octave or 1/3-octave graphic EQ, boosting or cutting frequency bands within certain spectral ranges. Then in the Test mode you are given a sequence of 10 similar examples, where you try to guess, which frequencies are boosted or cut, and you get scored. The program is Free Software, distributed under GNU GPL v3 License. -

A utility to convert glossaries and questions in text (CSV) format to Moodle format. Using this utility, you can quickly convert a table of term/definition pairs (for example, from two adjacent columns of a spreadsheet) into a Moodle glossary file, ready for import into your Moodle system. The same source data can also be used to create quiz questions as an aid to student learning, asking the student either to match a set of randomly selected definitions to the corresponding term being defined (Moodle matching answer format), or to supply the term corresponding to the given definition (Moodle short answer format). Short answer, matching answer and multiple-choice type quizzes can also be generated from tables of question/answer data, with customized feedback for individual responses if required. -

My Basic Facts Quiz is software written by two school students for primary (elementary) school students to practise maths basic facts questions on. The software asks the user what numbers the questions should include and how many questions to attempt at a time; then randomly generates quizzes full of questions with those parameters. The software gives the student feedback once they have completed the quiz they are given, including the percentage correct. Students can also choose a type or types of questions to do - useful for them to work on their weak spots at home. A teacher interface is included that will display a link on the screen ready to be copied and pasted where it needs to go to get to the students - or just displayed on an interactive whiteboard. The project incorporates an animated cat from the project clippy-js. The cat gives the student positive feedback if they get 90% or more correct - including purring and parading proudly. -
