Cutter is a Unit Testing Framework for C and C++. Interface of Cutter is easy to write and easy to debug your code.

PICSimLab is a realtime emulator of development boards with MPLABX/avr-gdb debugger integration. PICSimLab supports microcontrollers from picsim, simavr, uCsim, qemu-stm32, qemu-esp32, and gpsim. PICSimLab has integration with MPLABX/Arduino IDE for programming the microcontroller's boards. As the purpose of PICSimLab is to emulate real hardware it does not have any source code editing support. For code editing and debugging the same tools used for a real board should be used with PICSimLab, such as MPLABX, Arduino IDE, or VSCode with PlatformIO. PICSimLab supports several devices (spare parts) that can be connected to the boards for simulation. Such as example LEDs and push buttons for simple outputs and inputs and some more complex ones like the ethernet shield w5500 for internet connection or the color graphic display ili9340 with touchscreen. Linux Test Project (LTP) is a joint project started by SGI, OSDL and Bull developed and maintained by SUSE, Red Hat, Fujitsu, IBM, Cisco, Oracle and others. The project goal is to deliver tests to the open source community that validate reliability, robustness, and stability of the Linux Kernel. The testing suites contain a collection of tools for testing the Linux kernel and related features. Our goal is to improve the Linux kernel and system libraries by bringing test automation.

Scan for WiFi devices, block selected connections, create dozens of networks and confuse WiFi scanners! Version 3 is in development. It is stable to use, but it is very different. It is command-line based, which allows it to offer not just more features, but make them more customizable. This software allows you to easily perform a variety of actions to test 802.11 wireless networks by using an inexpensive ESP8266 WiFi SoC (System On A Chip). The main feature, the deauthentication attack, is used to disconnect devices from their WiFi network. No one seems to care about this huge vulnerability in the official 802.11 WiFi standard, so I took action and enabled everyone who has less than 10 USD to spare to recreate this project. I hope it raises more attention on the issue. In 2009 the WiFi Alliance actually fixed the problem (see 802.11w), but only a few companies implemented it into their devices and software.

The Software Testing Automation Framework (STAF) is a framework designed to improve the level of reuse and automation in test cases and test environments. The goal of STAF is to provide a complete end-to-end automation solution for testers.

This is the stress-ng upstream project git repository. stress-ng will stress test a computer system in various selectable ways. It was designed to exercise various physical subsystems of a computer as well as the various operating system kernel interfaces. stress-ng was originally intended to make a machine work hard and trip hardware issues such as thermal overruns as well as operating system bugs that only occur when a system is being thrashed hard. Use stress-ng with caution as some of the tests can make a system run hot on poorly designed hardware and also can cause excessive system thrashing which may be difficult to stop.

sysbench is a scriptable multi-threaded benchmark tool based on LuaJIT. It is most frequently used for database benchmarks, but can also be used to create arbitrarily complex workloads that do not involve a database server. extensive statistics about rate and latency is available, including latency percentiles and histograms. Low overhead even with thousands of concurrent threads. sysbench is capable of generating and tracking hundreds of millions of events per second. New benchmarks can be easily created by implementing pre-defined hooks in user-provided Lua scripts. Can be used as a general-purpose Lua interpreter as well, simply replace #!/usr/bin/lua with #!/usr/bin/sysbench in your script. Execute events for this many seconds with statistics disabled before the actual benchmark run with statistics enabled. This is useful when you want to exclude the initial period of a benchmark run from statistics.

pamtester is a tiny utility program to test the pluggable authentication modules (PAM) facility, specifically designed to help PAM module authors to intensively test their own modules.

DUMA (Detect Unintended Memory Access) is a multi-platform memory debugging library. It can detect memory leaks and buffer overruns (or underruns) in a malloc() / new memory buffer. Most test frameworks for C require a lot of boilerplate code to set up tests and test suites -- you need to create a main, then register new test suites, then register the tests within these suites, and finally call the right functions. This gives the user great control, at the unfortunate cost of simplicity. Criterion follows the KISS principle, while keeping the control the user would have with other frameworks. Supports parameterized tests and theories. Progress and statistics can be followed in real time with report hooks. TAP output format can be enabled with an option. ebizzy is designed to generate a workload resembling common web application server workloads. It is highly threaded, has a large in-memory working set, and allocates and deallocates memory frequently.

test-tlb is a tiny C microbenchmark that explores the performance characteristics of memory access patterns with respect to the CPU’s Translation Lookaside Buffer (TLB) and caches. It walks arrays using different strides and working-set sizes so you can observe when access patterns overflow cache or TLB capacity. By timing tight loops and varying parameters, the program reveals step-changes in latency that map to cache lines, page sizes, and TLB coverage. It is intentionally minimal so you can modify page sizes, strides, or pointer-chasing strategies to run experiments on different machines and kernels. The code is useful for teaching, hardware bring-up, or validating assumptions about huge pages and NUMA placement. Rather than providing a plotting framework, it prints timings that you can collect and graph with external tools to visualize cache/TLB boundaries.

SSLScan queries SSL services, such as HTTPS, in order to determine the ciphers that are supported. SSLScan is designed to be easy, lean and fast. The output includes prefered ciphers of the SSL service, the certificate and is in Text and XML formats.

The Fuzzer Test Suite is a collection of real-world, bug-rich targets used to evaluate and compare fuzzers under controlled conditions. Rather than synthetic micro-benchmarks, it packages build scripts, corpora, and known-crash oracles so fuzzer authors can measure time-to-crash, coverage growth, and stability. Each target is configured to integrate with common sanitizers, ensuring memory safety bugs surface with precise diagnostics. The suite standardizes experiment parameters—runtime, seeds, and environment—so results are reproducible and comparable across machines and research groups. It’s useful both for tuning mutation strategies and for validating new coverage mechanisms before publishing results. By curating diverse targets (parsers, media codecs, serialization libraries), it helps fuzzers demonstrate robustness beyond a single niche.
