Kmttg, Does it always have to download a .tivo, or can I just download a .mpg/.mp4 without downloading .tivo also ? I am wondering if it isn't sophisticated enough to convert it in-stream and converts from the .tivo file to mpg or whatever after the download. I have searched for an option where it doesn't download .tivo but can't see one in the convoluted mess of an interface (So much for User Interface Designing after all these years.) Just added the two files suggested here, worked first time I loaded KMTTG. Be sure to check the "Use RPC to get NPL when possible" option under"Program Options" if you unchecked it like I did, (when KMTTG stopped working back on Dec 11.)

Wroking right now for me... According to that post the new certificate is good until may 24, 2024... cheers! -mkn

It is Dec 11th, 2022....the day kmttg is no longer supported. So now that the certificate expired how can I obtain my list of Tivo shows, download them, use the remote feature and many other things? I unchecked "Use RPC to get NPL when possible" box, so now I can get my recorded shows/movies to pop-up but they don't display episode numbers or the year a movie was made like before, so when I download them, the episode number or the year of the movie does not get added to the title of the file like...

I don't know when this problem started because it's been a while since I've extracted recordings from my TiVo, but kmttg appears to be garbling the EIA closed captions that accompany most programs. The captions are fine when the program is played directly on the TiVo, but when the program is extracted by kmttg and viewed in a player like VLC, mpv, or IINA, the captions are scrambled, with many transposed and missing character sequences. If the captions are extracted with ccextractor they're garbled...

I just installed kmttg and am trying one tivo download to test the config. I also am getting a .mp4 output file with no sound while the .ts file in \mpg_out has sound. Also, download/save works fine using Archivo. My tivo is an old Premier XL that still works fine (knock on wood). I am guessing I have something configured wrong for the encode. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Wondering if anyone else has been converting .TiVo on windows 10 machines that have experienced this too. In the logs at bottom in the red text I also see a note. NOTE: You must have at least partial TiVo Desktop install for DirectShow Dump to work. I do, and it worked two or three days ago. I'm hoping cat didn't walk on keyboard during processing and changing some of the choices at top. :( I'll reinstall TiVo desktop and hope for the best.

I used to have auto transfers happening just fine, and files downloaded using "start jobs", but it's stopped working, and I can't figure out why. I used to get playable .mpeg and .ts files, but not now. The problem seemed to start when I uninstalled Tivo Decktop from my PC, but reinstalling it did not seem to help. .mpg files produced are unplayable in VLC or Windows media player. Best I can tell, the uncolored rows are recordings you can transfer without problem. Colored rows are ones the station/channel encoded as to not be transferrable (DRM enabled).

Yes, I have just tried running it. Even though I installed the latest version of Java for OS X, I'm still told that kttmg won't run because I need to install a JRE. After banging my head against it for a while, I did get it working. I've authored a blog post to tell others how to get the Mac to recognize Java is installed and get kttmg to work. SOLVE for me at least. I was screwing around with the settings and found that I had TS Download turned off. I check that and the downloads started working. Then I added the Decrypte feature and that worked too. Now everything is downloading correctly and if watchable in VLC.

I would like to be able to download a program on my Roamio to a MP4 file. I download the zip file and unzipped it. I double clicked the .jar file and entered my MAK. I right clicked the program I wanted. . . . the program is on my hard dsik as a .tivo file and a .ts file. All the check boxes {ts download to encode} are checked except custom. What did I do wrong?

It would be helpful to add a check and display a user friendly message about the lack of javafax. I've attached a patch that does just that. If you think it would be of use I could also look at refactoring config.java so headless opperations can work without javafx.

Hi, I've been useing kmttg for years and I find it quite useful. One thing I've been wondering is if there is any way to manually transfer recordings from the web interface? I know you can list current recordings and the todo list, as well as transcode current recordings on the fly. Is there any way though to do a manual transfer equivalent to highlighting a show in the Java interface and clicking start jobs? Even if it's not in the UI, is there an endpoint that accomplishes this? Thanks!

I tried downloading again without TS downloads being checked, and the video decoded. However, only the audio played. With the TS downloads checked continue to get permission denied error. When playing the TiVo file through Windows Media Player also only plays audio. I added to my Word document and note the different error codes in the log when not using or using TS downloads.

Hi, Love kmttg, best part of owning a tivo. I have 2 tivos, both roamio pros. Kmttg works great, both show up fine. What I'd like, if possible, would be if kmttg could do transfers between the two? Hi, We want to export the current Remote / ToDo list, manipulate the csv and then import and write the updated version of the csv back to the TiVo. Does anyone know if that is possible? -Sandra

Returning to java issues, I am relatively new to kmttg having set it successfully once previously but now struggling with a new installation on a different computer. I've read the alternate instructions and tried multiple times with no success. I'm not exceptionally techy, generally can follow what I'm reading and the cut and paste into terminal instructions are a big help. I have a little macmini running Mavericks (OSX10.9.5). I downloaded and unpacked all the kmttg stuff and installed the JRE....
