Unable to sync with Secrets for Android - comms problem
The problem turned out to be that the sync app needs to be started before attempting the sync operation. I guess that leaving it to Android to fire it up automatically means it doesn't get started fast enough.
Version 1.2.1 added to support Java levels 8 and above.

Looks like I am stuck. Nothing seems to make them sync. If you do repackage some day please let me know and I'll retry - thanks.
The Surface is Microsoft's Windows tablet/PC running W/10. I had to load Java. PCSecrets runs on the PC fine but I get an error on my phone when trying to sync. "Uh oh, sync with PCSecrets filed". Is that tyhe Java issue you mentioned or something else? I reloaded the Sync and I restarted phone and PC.
Yes absolutely this should work, as would using PCSecrets as the central point between two Android devices. I know nothing about Surface but I assume PCSecrets will run on it if it's Windows. Be aware of a problem I ran into recently - one of the dependent jar files doesn't work with the latest version Java (see closed Ticket). I would need to repackaged the distibution jar to fix it and I've said I won't be doing that. But if there is demand.... let me know, send me a message via this site. Chr...
I love PCSecrets and I use it with my Android as well. "Don't need no stink'in cloud". I have that issue you mentioned and I find I need to run PCSync app again and then all is good. I reently aquired a Surface. Can I sync between my laptop to phone and phone to Surface. Basically using my phone as the central point and sync to the two Windows devices?

Just to reassure you, PCSecrets is still alive and well, in as much as it still works and I'm still using it myself every day. Syncing with Secrets for Android has for some time had an unresolved issue whereby the sync through the sync app initially fails - just disable and re-enable the wifi and it should work. I've never been able to find what the problem is. Chris
