They currently contain: Wayland Libraries: * Wayland Master * Weston Master Wayland Toolkits and Applications: * Wayland enabled Clutter * Wayland enabled SDL * Wayland enabled GTK * Wayland enabled Qt * Wayland enabled EFL/Elementary * Wayland enabled FreeGLUT * Wayland enabled GLFW * Wayland enabled mpv * Wayland enabled gstreamer * KDE Frameworks Wayland programs * Native Calligra Wayland programs Wayland Desktops: * Weston's Example Desktop (selectable at login, and as a nested session from the application menu) * Orbital (selectable at login, and as a nested session from the application menu) (NOT on this ISO) * Hawaii (selectable at login, and as a nested session from the application menu) * Papyros (selectable at login, and as a nested session from the application menu) * Gnome-shell (selectable at login, and as a nested session from the application menu) **Does not work on Virtualbox, except it can run nested * Enlightenment E19 (selectable at login, and as a nested session from the application menu, however XWayland applications don't work when nested) **Does not work on Virtualbox, except it can run nested * Orbment tiling Wayland DE *Does not work on Virtualbox (selectable at login, and as a nested session from the application menu) **Use super+enter for terminal, and super+r for dmenu **Does not work on Virtualbox, except it can run nested * Sway tiling Wayland DE *Does not work on Virtualbox (selectable at login, and as a nested session from the application menu) **Does not work on Virtualbox, except it can run nested Other Features: * A graphical utility for configuring udev for weston multiseat/multi pointer * A rudimentary but functional Wayland login manager written in Bash, that supports user switching and session selection. * RDP enabled Weston --------- New in these ISOs: Ubuntu is no longer the base tier 1 distribution providing core packages... Debian Testing is now used. Casper and Lupin from Ubuntu are pulled in from BZR, which allow it to work as a LiveCD These changes (other then the specified repositiories) are all conditioned in. It would be theoretically possible to switch back to Ubuntu just by changing the debootstrap locations, and imported /etc/sources.list Ubuiquity is no longer the installer. The installer is now Calamares, https://github.com/calamares/ which is an early distro independant install. KDE Wayland is a selectable option, and is usable to an extent this time waylandloginmanager instead of dumping the log output of all sessions to ~/waylandsession.log preserves 5 log files from each session to ~/wlsessionlogs/waylandsession_($DATESTAMP).log where $DATESTAMP is the number of seconds since 1/1/1970 12:00 UTC that the session was started (the UNIX epoch). This allows for better logging, and not using too much space from all the logs of all the users sessions waylandloginmanager now relies on systemd v227, which no longer requires a combo of openvt and runuser (although openvt is still used for the fallback menus). This allows existing upstream provided PAM config files to not have to be overwritten waylandloginmanager: fixed support for display servers that run on Weston's fullscreen shell, sessions are now called properly waylandloginmanager: PAM Session now sets XDG_SESSION_TYPE=wayland (and exports the environment variable as well) build_core: Downloads of repositiories are now done as the nobody user. This requires a filesystem that supports ACLs. most do. This is only for users building thier own ISOs. Also the handling of revision files is more secure. They are now processed in a restricted shell as a non root user, so that users building an ISO with specifc upstream revisions don't get compromised by a fake revisions file. This probably effects an extreme minority of people --------- Usage: There is no password for the Live Session User (beccaholic), while autologin is enabled when starting as a live CD, if you get prompted for a password when starting a second login session, the password field is blank If you choose to install, the live session user does not get added, and instead the login becomes the default usernme and password that is configured at the installation wizard --------- Problems and Notes: Orbital will be back on a later ISO when libweston is merged into main Weston. Hawaii and Papyros only work nested currently md5sum: cf64875e8d1918b021c6c80f5c8d49b4 RebeccaBlackOS_amd64.iso 86bf8a76314b371e258185b4667c8d2e RebeccaBlackOS_DevDbg_amd64.iso 27602ac826304e4ef8e4b463ae32a219 RebeccaBlackOS_Revisions_amd64.txt 4c8a45977cb06d19c951f1b6e171a170 RebeccaBlackOS_Source_amd64.tar.gz 944431e78899e4ca4e97def1936a6047 RebeccaBlackOS_i386.iso 78f45b63b7dad8ca18bea827d539ad03 RebeccaBlackOS_DevDbg_i386.iso 27602ac826304e4ef8e4b463ae32a219 RebeccaBlackOS_Revisions_i386.txt 15373232d5fbe247ccf686166ef44ad8 RebeccaBlackOS_Source_i386.tar.gz
