"Easy, customizable automation"
What do you like best about NIM?

I love the visibility of NIM. I can easily see how the data is getting funneled through filters and roles, as well as track down errors that occur. We use it to automate many products with no issue. We also have custom tables that I frequently have to add values to for group memberships. It all works together well! If I do have an issue, support is just a ticket away. My issue is resolved quickly. We have added on to our system and adjusted the flow many times and support is always helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NIM?

Honestly there isn't much I don't like about NIM. The setup was lengthy, but we have a very specific, customized setup so that was understandable. But now that the setup is complete, the system works great! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about NIM?

NIM does a great job at onboarding new staff and students into our Microsoft and Google. We no longer need to go in and turn accounts on or off in multiple locations. NIM populates the proper Google Groups, gives needed permissions and sets up their entire account at creation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NIM?

There really isn't much that we don't like about NIM. I guess I would say that there is a learning curve to set everything up. It can be complicated for someone that doesn't do the time to learn it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NIM?

If I had to pick one thing I dislike, it would be the documentation. There are sections of the documentation that are lacking. With that being said, anything I cannot figure out, I work with support on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"NIM Deployment"
What do you like best about NIM?

We have been customers since Tools4Ever and the transision to NIM was fairly smooth compared to other transitions we have done with other vendors products. NIM is a much more user friendly product to work with than the previous version of Tools4Ever. The navigation within NIM to make adjustments is much easier to figure out. The integration was fairly easy to get working with our setup as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NIM?

I think there is still alot going on within NIM but it has become more managable than Tools4Ever was where we could not really figure out how to make changes without calling support. I think it would a nice feature if there was a way to reach support within NIM in the future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A great automation platform"
What do you like best about NIM?

NIM is extremely modular, making it esay to add or modify components of my user management automation. I am able to connect to various data sources and essentially create an ad-hoc relational database to centrally manage my user accounts. This solution allows me to eliminate all of the various scripts and other mechanisms scattered accross my environment that I would otherwise require, not only simplifying user account management, but also giving me much clearer visibility on the entire process. Because NIM makes use of user-defined filters to define data subsets, then a mapping mechanism to define what data you want to write to that subset, it is possible to see what changes will happen without commiting them. The data write-back only happens during a scheduled sync cycle, meaning I don't have to worry about breaking my production environment.

Furthermore, the ability to create web apps for admin use as well as my end-users is extremely powerful - for example, I was able to create and deploy a delegated password-reset app for a subset of my users. I've also built some apps for use by our IT team, making it simple to manage access to systems and maintain least privilege.

The engineers from T4E are very good to work with, and did all of our migration and onboarding. We spent a few weeks working together to build the automation, and by the end of it we had a fully working solution. Since taking it over from their engineers, I've made many modifications and additions to the workflow, but I could also have had their engineers do this. Their support has been very prompt and efficient responding to tickets. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NIM?

The main downside of NIM is the steep learning curve. There is no way around it - you just have to spend time going through all of the various menus and blades, reverse-engineering the workflows created by the NIM engineers, until it all clicks. But that's nothing unique to NIM, and for a system that can do as much as this one does, the effort correlates well to the result. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Independent from IT Administrator"
What do you like best about NIM?

We can reset password of our account by our selves. No need to create ticket or ask IT Administrators for password reset. We don't have to wait for this and slso we can set password according to our remembring power instead of Random password. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NIM?

Sometimes it is not taking the password which we gave even we have followed the policy.

Sometimes take more time in syncing new password else it is best because we can get password even more fast then to wait for the IT Admin to rest the password and share with us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Satisfied Customer of the old UMRA system and now we are a Supremely Satisfied Customer"
What do you like best about NIM?

Ease of future customization is the BIG item.

We previuosly relied on UMRA for new user credentials, we now use NIMS for that plus a lot more. We use NIMS to generate our own specialized extracts and even sftp these files from inside the NIMS platform.

We have end user staff who are able to pull needed data from the NIMS system on a protected web interface as well.

They tend to use this data on a daily basis to look up student passwords and such.

The NIMS web style of delivering data measn that I no longer have to post a daily file that has this information . We use to post it on a secure fileserver.

More finctionality and easier to use.

The implementation was easy since they did all the work for me.

The NIMS system is automatically running without intevention so it is easy to forget that it is there.

Whenever we do need help with a modification or tweak that I can't do myself, their customer support has always been very helpful and friendly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NIM?

We had to get GADS or GAPS or whatever set back up since NIMS does not resend changed passwords to Google.

We use AD primary source.

We have not found any other issues yet that NIMS does not natively solve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
