It is PostgreSQL. I use it on-prem, so being able to use it in Azure provides commonality for me. It is managed so it takes that burden away from me. It performs well, can have read-replicas, so all is good. Priced reasonably and for those that only need what it offers, is a great way to save money over the alternatives like Managed SQL Server or Azure SQL, or even something like Oracle. Working with clusters is not as seamless as AWS's Aurora/PostgreSQL. There is a Hyperscale (Citus) option but it is quite pricey. Something that auto-fails over to the read-replica that gets promoted to the writer would be nice.

The pricing model for the Azure SQL database has great flexibility. You're able to pick what functionality your company needs at different pricing tiers. The ability to scale is fantastic in this database. You're able to scale up during busier times and scale down to a lower tier when you're not as busy. Warehousing and security in the cloud is one of the key aspects of the product since it allows the user to acquire the required capacity since it is based on a flexible environment, another highlight is the fact that it is multiplatform, providing access through any device. which is also significant in terms of reducing equipment costs for implementation and not only in this aspect is economically profitable is paid for use but not for monthly fee. The best thing about this product is they keep upgrading with amazing add-ons at no increase in price as its very cost effective. The contract negotiations are also fairly flexible and its can be identified as a company who shows interest in a strategic partnership. Product performance is amazing. The only thing to dislike about this product as per me is Volatility of roadmap; found that while we're getting great features added regularly, there's still some unpredictability to the toolset as MSFT innovates the product offering also the technical support can be enhanced and can be more on time. Before using Azure for PostgreSQL, I am sure an architect or developer has already done some research and chosen PostgreSQL for some reasons. PostgreSQL is open source making it an easy choice for many researchers or low budget development. It is one of the most advanced databases, and has for sure stood the test of time. It has a great community that supports and maintains its integrity. Azure Database for PostgreSQL is simply the deployment of PostgreSQL database on the Azure cloud. It's as simple as logging onto the Azure database portal and creating a new PostgreSQL database instance. You can add database owners, and set up security procedures for your database.
