I have an application. It uses some databases and has a caching layer. I have a few services that go along with it. Oh, right, and it needs to be secure and HIPAA compliant and all of those things. So... we deploy it via Aptible. And it works, and it is backed up, and Aptible helps us meet a lot of the security things we need. It just works. Support is great. They make steady progress on features and listen to customer needs.

As for the title, when I'm explaining to (technical) people what Aptible is, I use the phrase, "like Heroku, but with all the security stuff." That explanation *normally* works. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I really loved the design of the platform. It's not like a regular "course" website that will put videos/answers and that you'd feel you just "drop" files. Don't have to worry about the security settings and various system configurations for deploying apps. It supports a wide variety of databases and is easily configurable. The parts I interacted with were very simple. Practically no wrong buttons to click.

I think we ended up going with a different provider that had slightly more features that we needed, but not ones that I interacted with. They have a hosting platform among their offerings, but I didn't use this part. We still had to learn about it, but I guess that's just one of the conditions for using their system.
