Dolphin Imaging Reviews & Product Details

It functions as a storage and viewer for patient images/x-rays but there are much better options out there. See my additional comments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We purchased Dolphin Imaging at our practice and have been using it for over 10 years. As a warning, this company will nickel and dime (or rather hundreds and thousands) you at every opportunity. Most recently, our software completely stopped functioning and we learned that they put a "cap" on the number of patients we can add to their program without paying them thousands more to "increase the limit". This is after paying around $10k for the program to begin with... Essentially blackmailing the users into paying more money just to use the software that they already paid for. On top of that, in order to get any sort of assistance whatsoever, they require a recurring support fee. I.e. there is no option to pay for help with a single issue. Also, even what would seem to be the most basic of functions for the software costs extra. I would not recommend getting sucked into the Dolphin black hole. As an aside, our management software (Not Dolphin's) has an imaging gallery included that functions exactly how it should with no extra fees. I wish we had just used the incorporated imaging portion of our management software instead of Dolphin to begin with. :( Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Retains originals for all photos. Good integration of radiographs, including CBCT. Extensive options for reviewing CBCT, including 3D reconstructions. Side by side comparison is an excellent tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The Capture/Scan and editing functions are often difficult to navigate. The layouts are difficult to create, and often change the photo sizes based on how you're looking at them. For example, if you crop in the "Everything" layout, it may look different in a user-created layout. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Its very easy to use! the tracking of the patients, the time they were seated is very helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It was a little difficult to learn how to use it at first, but once getting the basic knowledge of the system, it was fine. Also the images are a little blurry but it can be adjusted. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Being able to take an xray of a patient and not having to copy and paste it, it shows up directly on dolphin imagining. When taking images, xrays were quick to display and see. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I dislike when the office works in a different location that is not our own because we have to remote in and dolphin imaging does not upload images as easily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

dolphin ceph tracing has everything the doctor truly needs to evaluate ortho patients. there are lots of features, many i'm sure people are not really even maximizing Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

interface and layout is pretty minimal. while this is not bad, it would be great if the layout looked more current and not early 2000's-y. What is really a pain is as you place the landmark points, the tracing of the different curves of the face is so inaccurate. so much time is wasted adjusting the gray points of the soft tissue and bone structures... if that could be more accurate you'd save people at least 50% of their time completing ceph tracings. I enjoy the fact that this program syncs with the Dolphin Management program. It is simple and straightforward and allows us to easily record and document necessary information for each patient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
