I have been using Granular Software for several years. The evolution of its many features has been fast and accurate to my needs. I have never seen such an involved group effort. They care about their product and show effort to improve it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I'm not too fond that most of the people at Granular don't have a farming background. However, this does not mean they are afraid of learning ways to better their product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I really like the field and crop plans. This allows us to put together extensive plans for the upcoming years so that we stay on track and can see when we veer off our plans. I also enjoy the plan, forecast, and actual function. Your initial plan (budget) gets updated as actual processes get completed with the actual costs being spent. I don't like the grain inventory/management function at all. In fact it's so bad for our operation that we have to keep inventory in a completely different piece of software. I also don't like all of the workarounds that we've had to implement to make it work for our operation. I understand no software can completely cover the variety that farming acoss the globe encounters, but I wish it was a little more flexible rather than ridgid with workarounds. I really like the feature that allows you to create work orders that assure the commercial fertilizer/ag chemical applications are applied at the correct amount to the correct field. Granular allows us to keep and organize all of our field operations and data in one place. It helps eliminate Excel spreadsheets and is accessible from anywhere, not just the office and desktop. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The program contains so much information, so it is sometimes difficult to know where to go to get the data or analysis you are looking for. Therea are multiple ways to navigate to get to different pages and information and it can be a little overwhelming to learn where everything is located. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Once the setup process is complete, then all the field related data such as variety and chemical usage rates, and yields along with the related cost are assigned to each field from my tractor monitor to Granular with no work on my part. Not sure this is a dislike, but I will be honest. Granular makes you spend a lot of time planning your intentions for each field for the whole year. This is something you can do during those cold winter months, but when your done, you now have a comprehensive plan for your whole farm and all the decision are made for your employees when spring rolls around. Also, you now have a budget and know what everything is going to cost you, plus you have a report that you can take to your suppliers to order what you need as opposed to guessing. I like the ability to have all of the farm production and financial records in one software program. The Task Manager feature is an excellent tool for farm managers to organize labor and equipment and communicate instructions with the farm equipment operators. by far the best feature from Granular is the customer service. The on boarding process can be tedious and brutal. It takes some time before you become comfortable and confident in your results with granular Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Granular has everything I need to make farming decisions. The information is usually all one click away if not right there on the Dashboard page. That is probably my favorite feature. I do not like that the information from Granular agronomy does not communicate with granular business. Also, there needs to be a better way to enter loads coming to the grain bins and going out. I hate entering loads from fields and then entering every weigh slip from the elevator, and then also having to make a separate contract for the grain that is not on an original contract. Sometimes the prices change throughout the day, I could have to make 10 different contracts for one day of hauling in order to get the pricing correct. I wish there was an option as you were entering the grain transfer in to put the price for that specific load. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Granular is a very user-friendly, very organized software program for farm management. You can dive as deep as you want to go into the $/ac of your operation. It helps me organize the direction of my farm team today, this month, and this season. Where do we need to go, where do I need to direct inputs? The customer support team is probably the best feature of the whole program. They are bar-none the best in the business. Granular Business is really only the $ side of the operation. I wish there is more agronomy blended in, such as rainfall and soil maps. But there's also a program for that. I also wish there was a livestock component built in. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The most helpful thing about Granular is I can see where I am most profitable on my farms, fields, different rotations. So this enables me to make the best decisions for my farm going foward. If a farm is not profitable maybe I try to find some more land and let some go. That is what we are business for the make profit. I guess the only downside I would have to say is introducing the task to your employees. If there not technology advance it might be a little harder for them to learn it. But other than that I Loved it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
