"Helpful 401(k) Setup and Rollover Support"
What do you like best about Human Interest?

Setting up a 401(k) has a surprising amount of legal complexity and HI helped us navigate it pretty quickly. The onboarding specialist was able to field all of my difficult questions. As an owner and employee, I was pleased with the rollover support when things went askew with my previous provider. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Human Interest?

Let me first say that Human Interest seems to do the hard things well.

While HI offers many investment options, your particular business may be too small to access many of them due to minimum investment sizes. This is not a Human Interest policy so no other provider is going to be able to do any better for you. I would have liked to have seen the number of choices immediately suitable for us as most fund minimums are either $3,000 or $50,000 and not in between so it should not be too challenging to find this number. Initially we were given an incorrect list of investments and so after researching and making selections were told none of the options were available, which I found a little frustrating.

But these two problems are related and could both be solved with a simple tool inside the platform which would show you available investments filtered by fund minimums. Then, allow that to populate any paperwork required instead of me copying and pasting it manually.

This is a rather minor product improvement for them that I would expect them to get to eventually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined 401(k) Administration with Reliable Payroll Sync and Easy Onboarding"
What do you like best about Human Interest?

Human Interest makes 401(k) admin simple. The payroll sync works reliably, the employee portal is easy to use, and compliance tasks like notices and filings are largely automated. Plan setup was straightforward and the onboarding materials helped employees enroll quickly. Pricing is clear and the fiduciary support reduces risk for a small to mid sized firm. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Human Interest?

Support quality can be uneven during busy periods, and response times vary, the AI assistant sometimes makes mistakes which makes it less reliable. Sync with BambooHR is great but can backfire - it assumes that everyone who is in the system is eligible for 401K which is not always the case and requires manual unenrollment Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Seamless Onboarding and Excellent Service with Human Interest"
What do you like best about Human Interest?

The onboarding agents and process was smooth and highly efficient. Everybody that we've talked to from Human Interest have been professional and very personable.

Integrating our policy from our former provider was effortless on our part (apart from a few forms). They really took the wheel in handling everything.

Using the administrative tools on their website have been nothing like I've experienced before with our 401(K) providers. The platform is superb! We are on their on a weekly basis - it's just a great experience all the way around.

We would highly recommend making the change! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Human Interest?

I do not have anything bad to say about Human Interest. We have had a great start and experience up to this point. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The Human Interest platform automated 401(k) and 403(b) retirement planning."
What do you like best about Human Interest?

We are finding the platform intuitive and easy to use for managing contributions, investments, and account information. Human Interest works seamlessly with payroll providers, automating deductions and reducing the chance of errors. This automation has helped our HR and finance teams save significant time and effort. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Human Interest?

The app could improve its process for handling accounts closures and distributions in a timely manner. Delays in these areas can result in prolonged account activity and continued fees. Aside from this issue, I have found the app to be very helpful overall. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless 401k Setup and Seamless QuickBooks Integration with Human Interest"
What do you like best about Human Interest?

Human Interest is a straightforward and easy-to-implement platform for setting up a 401k plan for our employees. Our account representative made the process simple to understand, guiding us through the details of creating a plan tailored to our small company and helping us secure the best possible benefits for a business of our size.

After implementation, the integration with QuickBooks made it very convenient to set up, monitor, and adjust plans for our employees. We couldn't ask for more! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Human Interest?

There's not much to dislike for us, as our implementation process was extremely easy and we've encountered no issues! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Emphasis on Human in Human Interest"
What do you like best about Human Interest?

I think that their customer service is top tier and they were very attentive to our account when getting things set up.

Even now that we are set up, the attention to service is fantastic and I wouldn't want to change my 401k provider for this reason! We run contributions bi-weekly and it has been a seamless integration into our overall process.

The dashboard is easy to use and makes finding the contributions easy! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Human Interest?

My only downside is that there have been times where the website has crashed on me or won't let me in even after numerous authentications. I'm not sure if this is on Human Interest's side or my own Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Could be good if their limited setup happens to align with what you want."
What do you like best about Human Interest?

It's pretty affordable (especially through Gusto), and the platforms are pretty easy. They have decent support/responsiveness. It's streamlined for the HR/logistics/operations folks to get staff integrated, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Human Interest?

Limited logistics/contribution options. I spent a LOT of time going over our goals before we signed up and then what we needed to do wasn't possible. I think as many platforms and tech get "plug and play" you're dealing with staff that aren't experts in these services. The folks who onboard you aren't experts in 401k, 403b, or ROTH laws or regulations. It's like when you go to HR Block for your taxes, those folks are hired and trained in a week to just go through the motions of their platform, they have no experience in tax law. So it was disappointing to get signed up, onboard all our staff, and then realize that they can't support what we want. I believe as an employer you can only contribute a percentage of their pay or some kind of employee match. We are offering a set dollar amount that is equal for all staff, which I was clear about many times up front, and the ONLY way their platform can do that is if we make a non-elective contribution once at the end of the year. This means we miss out on a whole year of growth potential, but also can get messy if someone leaves the company within the year and wants to transfer their retirement portfolio with us to something else, and it means I have to hold onto the funds all year which leaves room for error, for not budgeting properly, etc. So it's really a problem for us. There are considerations for compliance and specifically non-descrimination testing which I tried to get guidance on ahead to see if we were setting outselves up for success and the onboarding people didn't seem to have an understanding of that and said I can't check in with the compliance people until we are already signed up. One checked someone or with someone and told me that in our circumstance we shouldn't be subject to it but I've since talked to experts who say we will be. So overall this didn't work out for us and I'm quite disappointed. When I tried to address the issue with my contacts, they basically said you signed the plan documents so you signed up for this. While that is true, the language and options in these things isn't plain English - it's technical, complicated, and legal. People hire services like this and TPW (Third Party Administrators) in general to help navigate these things and minimize exposure/mistakes because this isn't straight forward. So I'd say they failed us in that regard. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Most user friendly 401K plans for small businesses"
What do you like best about Human Interest?

What I like the best about Human Interest is how user friendly the program is. Whether you are an admin or employee, Human Interest makes the process super easy. The implementation for Human Interest was a breeze and I felt supported throughout the process. I love that it auto enrolls staff so no one misses out on making contributions and growing their retirement fund. It easily integrates with our payroll provider (Gusto) making it essentially "hands off" and they email me after each payroll to update me with what the employee and employer contributions were so I can stay on top of it. Their customer support is outstanding and they are quick to answer questions whether you are on the admin side or the staff side. I was first introduced to Human Interest at my previous job, but loved it so much that I chose to use them for my own personal business I just opened! I will continue to use them for the foreseeable future! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Human Interest?

"Great sales pitch, HORRIBLE support"
What do you like best about Human Interest?

That it connects to QBO. Which is why we moved from our last provider Asc.... of course the initial QBO setup was flawed causing issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Human Interest?

Most everything. The conversion process is STILL, months later, inaccurate. After MANY emails over MONTHS, I still can't get an answer -- most of the time my support requests go no where with no response. They use a "dedicated account manager" in their sales pitch. That meands dedicatedam@humaninterest email. Not a person. Most of the time I get no response whatsoever. Technical issues abound - they keep saying that one of my employees emails is wrong. Even though we have shown server trace logs that the email was never recieved; further we asked them to simply send that person and email from their account and they'd know it's working. Again, no response. I think they escalated some of the issues - again, no response. After going through this painful conversion, we'll likely just for another administrator as months later it's still incorrect. What good is a "dedicated account manager" when you can't get them to respond? Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Very Easy way to start your companies 401K"
What do you like best about Human Interest?

Setting up and using the program has been extremely easy and straightforward. Our employees were very pleased to have one established, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. They’ve shared how simple the enrollment process was and how convenient it is to adjust their contribution percentages as needed. The overall user-friendly design has made the transition smooth and has helped encourage greater participation. Also love how it integrates with Rippling. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Human Interest?

The only minor challenge we have noticed is the short lag time before contributions are reflected in employee accounts. I believe this is a standard practice across most providers, so it has not been a significant concern. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
