Hurdlr completely automates my business finances and organizes each expense into an identifiable category, so I am always in the loop with my finances. On top of this, they generate balance sheets, expense/income reports, and general ledgers, which are very helpful for filing tax returns and working with my accountant.

I dislike the inaccuracy in the Expenses overview, which includes personal and business expenses. I don't get an accurate view of all of my money going out since it double counts bank transfers (from one account to another) as expenses, which skews the results since they are not expenses. Our decision to switch to Hurdlr from Corpay One was really based off of the employees' familiarity with Hurdlr from using it previously. Hurdlr doesn't seem to have an option for just uploading a receipt for expense tracking. The functionality isn't fully there to only use hurdlr to track expenses and everything you need for a business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

- Accounts with the most relevant banking entities in the United States for account linking.

That I can track my mileage, receipts, and tax dollars all in one place. It's easy to jump in from my phone, and fairly intuitive for small business owners/self-employed folks for simple, everyday use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I find the reports to be improving, but I still find them to be tedious. I'd love to see a report that breaks down each business we own, broken down by expense type and divided by months or even weeks. It would be even MORE amazing if I could just export everything to an excel spreadsheet in this format, as I usually copy and paste everything from my expense reports into a spreadsheet for my accountant every year. I know this isn't everyone's way of doing taxes, but it's been rather clunky for me.

I am also not a fan of auto-tracking, there has to be a more intuitive method. I have a lot of expenses and miles that are not business related, and unless you drive uber it feels tedious to have to review all the miles you've driven and choose which ones are business related, and then go choose what the purpose was. Hurdlr keeps track of my revenue and all various expenses in one place. I can take photos of receipts with the app, and have it set to track my mileage automatically. It's constantly keeping aware of my tax liability so I can keep myself covered there. The data on the phone quickly syncs up to the Hurdlr website so I can review everything on a bigger screen. Though Hurdlr offers double entry accounting on a premium plan, some people may find it isn't a complete replacement for their needs compared to something like Quickbooks. For me, it's great and I only wish I found out about it sooner. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It tracks all driving that I do, so I am able to distinguish between business miles and personal miles. They give year end reports to assist with tax filing. They monitor your patterns and create rules for you to accept/reject to automatically tag mileage. It doesn't start tracking until the car has been moving over a certain speed (10mph, I believe) for a minimum amount of time, so approximately 1/4 mile is removed from each drive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

When I tried Hurdlr it felt like too much setup was involved. I've used quickbooks and mileiq for my expense and mileage tracker. I moved away from quickbooks due to the cost. I loved the idea that they were trying to create an app that could simply my expense tracking but theirs did not work well either and it was spendy. I ended up moving my financials to Wave Financial App and going back to mileiq. I pay nothing for wave and 5.99 a month for mileiq. The swipe right and left features are my favorite because they allow me to categorize personal and business expenses quickly and easily. I also like the continuous update of profit or loss and the easy graph that shows you very quickly where you stand. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Software is reasonable, $10 a month for plenty of features is good. The setup is pretty easy too. The receipts feature is another plus for me, it helps me stay on track and organized. I like the dual ecosystem of having access to an app as well as a desktop version. This makes it much easier to track expenses on the go like in instances when I am traveling. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
