The least helpful about hbase I think is the lack of some common features that are available with similar technologies available in the market. The downsides of hbase hence could be improved. For a technology to become popular the least helpful needs to be ommited out and the downsides could be removed. Technologically I found out that when only one Hmaster is used, there could be a possibility of failure. Since joins are handled in MapR layer.
