It was easy to use and integrate to our system. My Finance team uses this extensively and are really happy with the many features it provides. The way daily transactions are handled is amazing and the support for AI tools is an added advantage. It was really easy to implement to their work flow and they use it daily. I have used IBM DB2 for around 5 years for one of my legacy projects I was working on. Even though we have millions of records terabytes of data. The database was performing well. There is provision of vacuum for faster query performance and reindexing of whole database would also increase performance. There were no chances of it went down due to technical error. It provides a Linux interface allow technical people like me to use it Easly. I would definitely recommend it to others. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It´s easy to use, the DB2 is easy to upgrade and manage, all instructions are well documented on the IBM knowledge portal and also the support of the software is awesome, they solve your problems when you have them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I had an issue after a reboot, where the domain of the server changed and the DB2 wasn´t functioning correctly, so we had to change the domain and the device was up and running, we didn´t why that happened. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We are the user of IBM DB2 since very early v7. v8, now we are on v11+.

This product after v11+ is amazing ------

* for very large DB (which we are using) the exteded compressed columnar-tables partitioned DB env make the BLU acceleration so fast that our DW's ETL (also IBM product) & Reporting so fast

* the workloads for OLTP are high balanced/improved that make all combined jobs have an average higher performance

* the Nested Loop Join (NLJN) made SQL-Merge so fast that a parallel sort using much less memory. Amazing.

* installation and migration become much easier with altogether software delivery.

* the security even more amzing that extended native encryption from local key store upgraded to enterpise level (with using Key Manager, KMIP)

* overall tech support are making sense. Not bad.

We are preparing to upgrade to DB2 v12. So far, we are overally satisfy this product with using other IBM DB management tool like Datastage (ETL) etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Still some bugs found with v11.1 (which mostly fixed in v11.5), eg. IT35682; IT39085; IT34931 we experienced. But IBM-Support clearly explained that and provied alternatives.

We hope IBM can develop some kind of GUI All-in-One management (Web based) software/platform for DBA (especially) just like Oracle-Enterprise-Manager. Though there are some 3rd-party software on the market like DBI for DB2 Gui management, we hope IBM can 'invent' own software that could be includeded into the DB2 database software itself (for save on licensing) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

IBM Db2 is excellent for high availability and disaster recovery strategies particularly with HADR and Q replication for near real-time failover. Db2’s cloud-native integration lags behind modern cloud-first databases like Aurora or Spanner. Although IBM provides Db2 on Cloud, its Kubernetes operator lacks the automation maturity seen in competitors like CockroachDB or YugabyteDB. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I have been using for for almost 20 years. Started on the mainframe then moved to UNIX. I really like Performance and Stability of this product.

We used to had very serious power issue and a lot of boxes crashed, a couple Oracle server could not come up and there was no issue with db2 crash recovery. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
