What do you like best about Karbon?

Karbon makes it easy to keep my team organized and on the same page. The ease of use is impressive once you get familiar with the system, and the features for workflow automation and client communication save me a lot of time. I also appreciate that customer support is quick to respond and genuinely helpful when I have questions. We use Karbon every day, and it has become the central hub for our work. What do you dislike about Karbon?

The initial implementation does take some time, and there’s definitely a learning curve when first setting up workflows. While the platform is powerful, it can feel overwhelming at first with so many features. Some integrations could also be a bit smoother, especially when trying to connect all of our existing systems. What do you like best about Karbon?

A new integration that I have been really benefitting from is the updated QBO integration, this now pulls in payments received as well as the invoices issued. This has eliminated all manual bookkeeping on the sales side for me allowing me to focus on budgeting, expenses, and operations. Additionally, they recently added real time write up and write down disclosure on billing of jobs, this has been hugely valuable as I'm able to identify the profitability of jobs immediately, further investigate where things went wrong, and respond in a timely manner to issues in workflow and policies. Finally, I've also gotten such positive feedback from clients on the updated portal, clients are so happy with the new portal and the ability to easily provide files and updates to any workflow I have, but what they are most excited about is the real-time updates on job status' in Karbon without needing to redundantly have to follow up with me for job status; the feedback from clients has been 100% positive and satisfied with this newest update! I'm still absolutely thrilled with Karbon, this was a fantastic pick for me and my firm. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Karbon?

As with my previous review the only improvement I could ask for is more transparent time sheets. I'd love the timesheets to disclose the times that a staff member worked on a job (rather then just the time spent) to be more compliant with my institute guidelines, to better problem solve billing and time issues, and to better support my firm if the time entries were to ever be challenged by a client or some other stakeholder. The ability to manage workflow, engagements and communications in a 60 person firm with thousands of work items is critical to our ability to function. We not only function, but we are able to do more with less and improve our overall communications both internally and externally. From managing the inflow of emails to completing work and everything in between is accomplished using KARBON. We would be lost without it. Karbon has streamlined how our team collaborates and manages client work. The email integration helps turning client emails into tasks directly within Karbon, ensuring nothing slips through the cracks.

The workflow automation and templates save us hours by standardizing recurring tasks and setting up automated reminders, especially during tax season.

I also appreciate the collaboration tools like shared timelines and visibility across client files, which give the entire team clarity without the need for constant check-ins.

Our team is a daily user of Karbon and relies heavily on client and project management.

Integrations with Sharepoint and other apps through API takes the use of the program to the next level.

What do you dislike about Karbon?

The search button is located at the top right corner. This placement may be somewhat inconvenient, as it requires users to navigate to the right side of the screen when most tasks are typically performed on the left. A position on the top left, next to the Karbon logo, would be preferable.

Additionally, I would suggest changing the location of the "details" tab. When entering a new contact, the next tab should ideally be the "details" tab, followed by the work, time/budget, and other sections. Currently, the "details" tab is positioned at the very end, which raises the question of how to enter work details before inputting the contact's information.

Karbon was very customizable to our firm's specific processes and customer support is super reachable and helpful. I find it easy to track emails, workload, and project statuses. As much as I like triage, it would sometimes be helpful to have it work more like a regular email in that when I am typing an email, I wish I could pick a specific number size/font of text, the bullet points can be a bit tricky, I can't tab, and the printing feature is good but not great and adds extra blank pages to the pdf. Karbon is very user friendly, the implementation was incredibly simple. I found the learning pathways to be easy to follow. Our implementation lead was so knowledgeable and honest when answering questions. I have used customer support 2+ times, and they are readily available and provided me with detailed solutions to my problems & questions. We are using Karbon consistently throughout our day, and it has already improved our end of month close speed. Our internal team communication has never been more streamlined. As with any integration, there has been a learning curve, but when you have the right team, that learning curve is a healthy challenge that will lead to more succes. What do you like best about Karbon?

Karbon provides so many facets to help organize workflows, track time, assess project momentum, and involve clients more using the client-facing product. It is used daily here by all of our team members.

After some trainings (those were very easy to consume and learn from) we moved from using multiple sites/apps to a single source for nearly all our client accounting services and support. We thought the learning curve for this would be longer but it was painless.

The Karbon Support Team was amazing though the whole process too.

What do you like best about Karbon?

I love that it captures emails, both received and sent to the clients profile. And I like how easy it is to send an invoice. Customer support has been great. What do you dislike about Karbon?

The view is very different from other project & CRM's but it just gets some getting used to I suppose. We are a very small company, 6 people, with out an inhouse IT or Operations person, so it would have very helpful to have ongoing weekly support for a while after implementation.
