This is an easy to use and easy to set up program for small transactional businesses. It provides a multitude of reports for accounting and taxes as well as integrates generally well with QuickBooks Online. Thankfully I have only needed to reach out to Customer Support a couple of times and they were easy to work with. One of the issues with Square POS is that when you have multiple items and you update them, it defaults the Sales Tax to NonTax and the descriptions do not always properly integrate back to QBO and you must relink them as the system thinks they are new items. Another thing to note is that finding specific reports for Sales Tax and sales in general are not as detailed as sometimes necessary depending on the company type. I've been using Square for 6-7 years now for my business and it has been a great game changer. I use my square point of sale app and credit card adapter for all debit and credit card usage. When customers say to me, "I don't have cash, do you accept card?" I gladly say yes, and pull out either my phone, open up the app or use the credit card adapter.

The mobile app is very easy to download and accept payments. You just open the app, type in the amount, click review sale, and click charge. You can also send a receipt via to the customers email, or text message to their phone.

If you wan to down load the app, go to the app store on Apple or Google Play store for Android. It's easy to implement Square in your payment methods as they have stickers sent to new customers to place on all of your stationary letting customers know you take cards.

I use Square three times a month when processing online and in person payments at book or craft events.

Square is very easy to integrate with Google as you can advertise your website that you can build through Square as a store or website.

The website url has a free option that uses the square site in your domain name. You will have to pay a separate fee or membership to buy a domain to use either .com or .org. I think this should be included in the free option as there are several other membership options to pay for Square plus or pro that does not include the domain but will include sending emails to newsletter subscribers. The reporting tools are one of my favorite features. Square automatically tracks sales, customer purchases, and even peak hours. Having that data available at my fingertips allows me to make smarter decisions, like adjusting inventory or planning staff schedules. It’s like having a built-in business consultant. The system's reliance on a stable internet connection is a major concern. When our Wi-Fi goes down or the internet is slow, the entire point of sale system can become unresponsive. I wish it had more robust offline functionality to continue processing payments smoothly, as any downtime during peak hours can result in lost sales and frustrated customers. Getting started with Square POS was unbelievably easy. I didn’t need to hire an IT consultant or spend hours reading manuals. I feel that the transaction fees, while seemingly simple, are a major drawback. When our sales volume is high, that flat percentage for every transaction adds up very quickly. For a business like ours that processes a large number of credit card sales, we end up paying a lot more than we would with a traditional merchant service provider who offers a tiered or negotiated rate. We have used square with our fitness business for over five years now, and before that I was using it for my on the road crafting business. It has come a long way in the last five years and has really adapted and grown with our business. The scheduling, as well as the traveling POS system has really helped us expand and made our lives easier. The only aspect I think needs adjustment is the cost per usage. While charging according to legal standards is expected, the additional fee per transaction on top of the percentage could be reconsidered.
