We looked at a year’s worth of Buffer data to see which social networks are driving the most revenue growth. TikTok is the fastest-growing channel by revenue, but it still makes up just 5.8% of our total revenue. 🤯 Over the past 12 months, here’s how revenue growth breaks down by platform: 📈 TikTok: +56.6% 📸 Instagram: +37% 💼 LinkedIn: +32% 📘 Facebook: +19% 🐦 X (Twitter): +6.5% TikTok is growing fast but still has huge upside. Instagram and LinkedIn continue to deliver steady, dependable returns. We unpack more in this month’s finance newsletter, Buffer's Bottom Line 👇

I generally have a "bangers only" philosophy on social; I won't post just to post. But I'm making an effort to share and connect more here. So here's a quick intro, in case we haven't met IRL (or in case it's 🎶 been a whiiile* 🎶) 👋 Hi! I'm Carolyn, but you are welcome to call me Caro! Here are a few general categories of what I love to chat about. If you're interested, please follow along, and weigh in! 👩🏻💻 All Things Buffer. Top-of-mind for me is approaching People and Cultural work in a unique way that makes sense for the modern moment. 📈 Non-traditional career growth. I identify as a startup generalist, and I've worked in 3 departments within Buffer. My career hasn't been a ladder; I want to help normalize this and support others who may be in a similar position. 📚 Books! I'm a believer in reading as a keystone habit. I am excited to share my top highlights and book recommendations (especially when they are on sale). 🤐 Great quotes from others. Not everything requires my commentary! 🪿 And from time to time, a little bit of silliness. Thanks for being here. 🫶 (*To those in my generation: sorry and you're welcome for getting that song stuck in your head!)

Love this so much, Jen! You captured the exact mix of excitement and nerves that comes with showing up consistently. So glad you’re part of Creator Camp; your energy and honesty make the journey so much more relatable. Can’t wait to follow along with your 30 days; it’s going to be such a great ride! 💙

I know posting on LinkedIn every day is how you build community, trust, and reputation. But it's so intimidating. 🫣 So intimidating that even though I know it works, I have yet to give it a real go. That is, until Buffer's Creator Camp kicked off yesterday. Now I'll be posting for 30 days to build my LinkedIn muscle and, I hope, finally give myself fully over to the cringe. Buffer's done an incredible job of supporting the process, from a library of genuinely good prompts to a private Discord, and even a 30-minute video of calming piano music to play while you batch schedule your content for the week (so funny). While the camp registration is closed, I'm pretty sure these templates are up for grabs for anyone with a free Buffer account. Anyone want to join me?

Most companies rely on SMS for two-factor authentication. But what happens when the “standard” solution isn’t the most secure — or sustainable? We recently made a big change: we replaced SMS authentication with email. The result? ⚙️ Fewer login issues ⚙️ Stronger security ⚙️ Lower costs It wasn’t a simple decision, but it’s one that’s made authentication simpler, faster, and safer for our global users. Watch Carlos Muñoz, one of our senior software engineers, break down why we made the switch — and read the full story on the Buffer Blog. Link in the comments 🔗

We did something unconventional: we removed SMS TFA at Buffer Sounds risky? Here's why it actually made us more secure: 🔐 The SMS reality check: SIM swapping attacks are increasingly sophisticated International regulations created compliance nightmares across 100+ countries Costs were scaling unsustainably 📧 Why email won: Email accounts typically have stronger security than phone numbers (their own 2FA, recovery options, activity monitoring). Plus, we already had robust email infrastructure in place. The results after 3 months? ✓ Fewer authentication support tickets ✓ Better security posture ✓ Significant cost savings Sometimes "industry standard" doesn't mean "best for your context." We had to challenge conventional wisdom to find what actually worked for Buffer and our users. Have you ever questioned a security practice that everyone just accepts? I'd love to hear what made you rethink the status quo. Read the full story with my debut post in Buffer's Blog. Link is in the comment 👇

Buffer bucket list item — ✅ Checked off. Yesterday, I hosted Buffer’s monthly All Hands call for the very first time! And, as always, I walked away amazed by the brilliance of my teammates. Here’s just a peek at what I got to learn: 🎨 Sofia Toso & Martín G. shared the fascinating behind-the-scenes edge cases they work through when making new designs come to life within our product. 💭 Michael Eckstein, our product marketing expert, unpacked positioning and messaging strategies to make being a pro creator feel within reach. 💸 Kyle Allen, CPA delivered the very good news of Buffer hitting our best revenue quarter of all time, plus a 559% increase in Net Income compared to this quarter last year. I love learning from these experts / teammates / friends each month. If product, design, engineering, marketing, or finance is your jam, give them a follow. They all regularly share thoughtful, generous insights here on LinkedIn too! Who is someone you love learning from? I'd love to give them a follow! 📝

Love this, Naomi! It’s such a healthy reminder that consistency doesn’t have to mean rigidity. Letting go of what no longer feels natural is such a freeing part of the creative process. 💙

Wednesday Wins with Naomi: Phasing Out Regularly Scheduled Content Just because we make a plan doesn't mean plans can't change. Between Tuesday Tips with Naomi, Wednesday Wins with Naomi, and my posts for The Presence Lab, my Buffer calendar is full. But I'm mentally running out of content. And that's ok. So I'm phasing out Wednesday Wins and Tuesday Tips for now. That doesn't mean I won't post a win or a tip, but I'm not going to force the content (or feel anxiety when it doesn't come naturally). And I actually feel really good about that. (Also, seriously thinking about starting a Toot Your Horn Tuesday, but that's for another time). But to round this off with one last mini win: I made coffee this morning... with no coffee in it. My partner caught it, though, which I'm very thankful for! It meant we avoided the disastrous and wildly disappointing moment of pouring a hot cup of water. We had a good laugh and blamed it on the fact that he was working in the kitchen and explaining a very complicated spreadsheet to me. 😆 Small wins and big wins, I encourage you all to keep celebrating all of the moments great and small!

This is such a beautiful introduction, Sarahi! So full of warmth, depth, and personality. 💙 Love how you weave neuroscience into storytelling and make creativity feel both intentional and human. Thrilled to have you in Creator Camp; can’t wait to see the reflections and insights you share this month!

Content Marketing @ Ericsson | B2B + SaaS | Customer Advocacy + CX Storytelling | Writer | Making tech simple, human, unforgettable through a neuroscience lens

Today is the kickoff for Buffer’s Creator Camp! 🥳 If you don’t know what this is, I’ll happily talk your ear off about it! I'll be creating and posting content inspired by Buffer's prompts throughout October and November. Since I’ve somehow never done a proper intro post, I figured today’s the perfect time. I’m Sarahi, pronounced Sa-da-ee. The 'h' is silent, but it throws people off every time. 😅 It means princess. I know, I know. 😅 Thanks, mom. My background is in neuroscience, but I found my way into marketing because I love understanding why people do what they do, and turning that into storytelling that connects. I create content on LinkedIn (+ other platforms) around creativity, neuroscience, and growth mindset. This includes the habits + routines, mindset shifts, and simple joys that add a little serotonin to our lives. Humans are multifaceted; we’re allowed to evolve, change directions, and collect new versions of ourselves along the way. To me, creativity is a science experiment that never ends. And I believe the best marketing borrows from both art and science: curiosity from one, clarity from the other. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, baking, reading, hiking, and curating music playlists on Spotify for every occasion. Whether you’ve been here a while or just joined me on this wild journey, I'm happy you're here! 🧠☕️✨
