The Stream URL and Stream Key for an event can be found on the Manage streams page of LinkedIn's Live Studio:
- Verified Pages: Prepare to go live will become clickable two hours before the event's scheduled start time, when they can generate the Stream URL and Stream Key.
- Profiles and Pages that are not verified: Prepare to go live will become clickable one hour before the event's scheduled start time, when they can generate the Stream URL and Stream Key.
Preview shows the live feed that you’ve connected in LinkedIn's Live Studio. Your audience will only see the feed after you click Go live.
- Verified Pages: Preview mode can last up to two hours.
- Profiles and Pages that are not verified: Preview mode is limited to 10 minutes.
If you do not click Go live before that, it’ll expire and you’ll have to set up a new stream again.
You can go live using a custom stream (RTMP) from anywhere. Not all regions have a dedicated source in the Region dropdown list. You can select the region closest to you. When the region you want to select is overloaded, you'll see an error, then please select another region closest to you.
No notifications are sent when a live stream is first scheduled.
When you click Go Live, notifications will be sent to the attendees of your scheduled live event, but not to the followers of your page or profile.
We recommend scheduling your live events in advance, inviting attendees, as well as sharing and promoting your event.
You can promote Events via Event Ads. Pages can also boost Events posts.
If the Event was scheduled in advance, you can trim a stream in the standard way once the stream has ended. After going live instantly the recording cannot be trimmed.
