The Typhur Dome 2 is a large, single-basket air fryer with a 5.7-quart capacity, which is enough to serve three to four people. It features a round, space-age style with a basket wide enough to handle a 12-inch pizza. This air fryer stands out for its unique design, with heating elements on the top and bottom of the cooking chamber, and its self-cleaning function, which uses high heat to remove grease and residue. There are presets for various cooking methods and foods, like 'Toast,' 'Grill,' 'Pizza,' and 'Wings' on the air fryer, as well as additional options in the companion app.
Our Verdict
The Typhur Dome 2 is a good air fryer. Its roomy basket helps it produce very good-quality fried food, so onion rings, chicken nuggets, and veggies come out with most of each batch crispy and well-browned. It's impressively versatile as well, with a variable fan and a wide range of temperature settings and cooking modes. Unfortunately, its top fan speed isn't very fast, which impacts its cooking speed; it preheats very slowly and doesn't cook particularly fast either.
Makes very good-quality fried food.
Versatile option with a wide range of temperature and fan speed settings.
Preheats slowly.
The Typhur Dome 2 works impressively well for large batch cooking. Its 5.7-quart capacity is enough to cook for three to four people at once. Its basket has a very large amount of surface area, so there's plenty of space to spread food out in a single layer for the best results. You can use this air fryer for a variety of cooking methods, too, so while it's a very good option for fried food, it also works well for large batches of toast, pancakes, dehydrated fruit, and more. Unfortunately, it preheats very slowly and doesn't cook particularly quickly either, so it takes a while to cook multiple batches.
Large enough capacity for three to four people.
Makes very good-quality fried food.
Versatile option with a wide range of temperature and fan speed settings.
Preheats slowly.
The Typhur Dome 2 is good for air frying. It has plenty of space in its basket, which allows you to spread food out in a single layer. This helps the air fryer produce very good-quality fried food. Each batch of French fries, wings, or cauliflower comes out mostly crispy and golden brown. That said, its top fan speed isn't very high, which helps explain why a small portion of each batch remains undercooked. It doesn't work very fast either, taking an especially long time to preheat and return to temperature after you open the basket to add food.

Popular Air Fryer Comparisons
The Typhur Dome 2 is a medium-sized air fryer with a 5.7-quart capacity. It stands out for its wide, round, futuristic design, which takes up more counter space than models with similar capacity, like the Ninja Max XL AF161. At the same time, the wide design means that it has a much larger amount of surface area in its basket than other models. For example, the BELLA 6qt Pro 90165 actually has a larger overall capacity, but its basket has less than half as much surface area, making it harder to spread food out for the best results. Beyond its size, it's a versatile model with plenty of cooking modes, a wide range of temperatures, and an even lower minimum fan speed than the COSORI TurboBlaze, which is an extremely versatile model. Unfortunately, its maximum fan speed is quite slow, which means it preheats and cooks more slowly than models with a similar maximum power draw and capacity, like the Ninja Speedi SF301.

The Ninja Foodi DZ071 is a better air fryer for most people than the Typhur Dome 2. Both models have shallow, roomy baskets that allow you to spread food out in a single layer for very good-quality fried food. However, the Ninja preheats and cooks more quickly. It takes up less space on your countertop, too, while giving you the option to use one large basket or to divide it and cook with different settings on each side. The Ninja is more versatile as well. It has a wider range of temperature settings and fan speeds, making it more useful if you want to test out a variety of cooking methods with your air fryer. That said, the Typher Dome 2 has some special features, like a self-cleaning cycle and particularly quiet operation, so you may still prefer it.
The Typhur Dome 2 and BELLA 6qt Pro 90165 are both good air fryers, but they have different strengths, and you may prefer either depending on your priorities. The Typhur makes slightly better-quality fried food, likely due to the increased surface area in its basket and higher maximum power draw. It's more versatile as well, with a wider temperature range and variable fan speed. On the other hand, the BELLA preheats and cooks more quickly, takes up less counter space, and comes with a much smaller price tag.
The Typhur Dome 2 is a better air fryer than the thinkkitchen Retro Air Fryer for most people. It makes better-quality fried food, leaving less of each batch undercooked. While it takes longer to preheat, it cooks food faster and maintains a more stable temperature while cooking. It's more versatile, too, with a wider range of temperature and fan speed settings as well as more preset cooking modes. That said, the Typhur is quite a large model, and you may prefer the thinkkitchen if you have limited space and don't mind a simpler, less expensive option.
The Typhur Dome 2 is a better air fryer than the Our Place Wonder Oven. It makes much better-quality fried food, leaving more of each batch crispy and well-browned. While it preheats slowly and takes a long time to heat back up once you open the drawer, it cooks faster than the Our Place and maintains a more stable temperature throughout the process. The Typhur is more versatile, too, with a wider range of temperature settings, fan speeds, and cooking modes (including a self-cleaning cycle).
Test Results
The Typhur Dome 2 air fryer's 5.7-quart capacity is enough to serve three to four people at a time. Its basket has a much larger surface area than other air fryers, even those with a larger overall capacity. For example, the Ninja DZ550's dual baskets have a combined capacity of 10 quarts, but their combined surface area is still less than the Typhur's. The roomy basket can accommodate an entire 12-inch pizza and makes it very easy to spread food out in a single layer for the crispiest results. It has a ceramic coating, which can be tougher to clean, but you may prefer it if you avoid PTFE materials. The air fryer also features a self-cleaning cycle, and while this only tackles grease and build-up in the top cavity, it can make the process easier overall.
This air fryer is impressively versatile. It has a wide range of temperature settings, and its fan speed gets low enough for dehydrating or proofing dough. Unfortunately, while Typhur rates its top fan speed at 3400RPM, in our testing, we were only able to reach a maximum of 2060RPM, which limits how quickly it can crisp up food. This lower fan speed could be set to help increase the motor's lifespan or to help reduce noise.

This air fryer makes very good-quality fried food. Onion rings, chicken strips, and veggies come out mostly crispy and well-browned, with a smaller portion left undercooked.
Since many users are interested in cooking larger quantities of food in this air fryer, we also tested it (and the Ninja Speedi SF301 for comparison) with a double batch of fries. As expected, the Typhur's cooking speed and frying quality were impacted, but while it took a lot longer to cook, it still produced good-quality fries. The Ninja, on the other hand, saw a significant decline in both cooking time and frying quality. With a regular-sized batch, it produced great-quality fried food, but when the batch size was increased, the results were disappointing.
The Ninja has a slightly higher maximum power draw, and its fan gets up to a higher speed as well, so this difference is likely due to the Typhur's very large basket surface area. It's twice the size of the Ninja's basket, so we were able to spread the fries out in a single layer, while cooking 500g of fries in the Ninja requires piling them on top of one another, restricting airflow, and leading to sub-par results.
This air fryer cooks reasonably quickly. It features dual heating elements, one above the cooking chamber and one below, which helps crisp food fairly quickly. However, at its maximum, the fan works more slowly than models with a similar capacity, limiting how quickly food cooks. The Ninja Max XL AF161, for example, has a similar capacity and maximum power draw, but its max fan speed is higher, resulting in a faster cooking time.
Preheating this air fryer takes a long time. This is likely due to its large size, though many similarly-sized models still preheat faster.
This air fryer provides alright temperature stability. After you open the drawer to add food, it takes a long time to heat the cooking chamber back up, which can make it tricky to time recipes correctly. That said, once it heats back up, it stays pretty close to the selected temperature.
