The Objecto H4 is an ultrasonic humidifier with a unique hybrid design. Rather than releasing a standard cool mist like other ultrasonic units, the H4 first heats the water to 60 °C to sterilize it. It has a water tank with a usable capacity of 1.7 L (0.4 gal), and the manufacturer advertises it as suitable for rooms up to 450 ft2 in size. It also features an automatic off function for when its tank runs out. You can add a few drops of essential oil to the built-in aromatherapy tray for a scented mist.

Our Verdict

6.5
Home

The Objecto H4 is a passable choice for general home use. Its capacity is somewhat on the lower end of the scale, so you're best using it within small to medium-sized spaces, like bedrooms or offices. It's a bit of a chore to clean properly, though it's also nowhere near the worst in this regard.

Pros
  • Comes apart easily.

  • Has an auto-off function.

Cons
  • Poor efficiency.

  • Limited capacity.

  • Has many parts that need cleaning.

  • Runtime is a little on the short end of the scale.

7.4
Bedroom

The Objecto H4 is decent for bedrooms. It's compact, quiet, and has no very bright indicator lights that'll keep you up while you're trying to get some rest. You can also add essential oils to the unit for a scented mist if you'd like. While its humidification capacity is a little on the low end, it'll still do well in most bedrooms. On the downside, its power consumption is quite high, especially for an ultrasonic unit. Its max runtime of 13 hours will last you through the night, provided you've filled the tank. On the upside, it will automatically shut off once its tank has run dry.

Pros
  • Comes apart easily.

  • Quiet operation.

  • Has an auto-off function.

Cons
  • Has many parts that need cleaning.

  • Runtime is a little on the short end of the scale.

6.5
Cleaning

The Objecto H4 has a fair set of maintenance requirements. It comes apart pretty easily, but there are quite a few parts you'll need to wash. They all have to be cleaned by hand, as none are dishwasher-safe. There are also a few tight spots where it can be difficult to squeeze in a brush or washcloth to deal with stuck-on grime or slime.

Pros
  • Comes apart easily.

Cons
  • Has many parts that need cleaning.

6.2
Capacity

The Objecto H4's humidification capacity is mediocre. It'll do best in smaller spaces, like kids' bedrooms or smaller offices, and might struggle to humidify large, open-concept living spaces efficiently.

Pros
None
Cons
  • Limited capacity.

5.6
Humidifier Efficiency

The Objecto H4 provides poor humidification efficiency. Its water heating system results in much higher power consumption than the average ultrasonic humidifier, and its humidification capacity is on the lower end of the scale. Despite this heating system, it still emits a fairly cold mist, so you're best using it in warmer rather than colder environments.

    Differences Between Sizes And Variants

The Objecto H4 is available in three colorways: 'White,' 'Black,' and 'Metallic Gray.' We tested the 'White' variant, and for those interested, here's the product label.

    Popular Humidifier Comparisons

The Objecto H4 is a uniquely designed ultrasonic humidifier with a built-in heating function to sterilize water within its tank. In practice, this feature doesn't result in a warm misting unit like the Vicks V750, with the mist coming from its spout being only somewhere around room temperature. While it has an impressively compact design, it falls well short of comparably-priced alternatives like the Levoit LV600S regarding actual performance. The Objecto's humidification capacity is disappointingly low, and its water sterilization system results in higher power draw than conventional alternatives.

This humidifier's general ease of maintenance is fair. While the machine is pretty effortless to take apart, quite a few components do actually need to be cleaned. Worse, none are dishwasher-safe, so you'll need to hand-wash everything. Some areas, like the narrow mist spout, are a little tricky to get to. Properly aligning the base humidifier unit on the provided stand can also be a little tricky.

This is a somewhat feature-dense humidifier. Unlike most other ultrasonic humidifiers on the market, the Objecto H4 is meant to sterilize the water in its tank by heating it to 60 °C. One would expect this to result in a steady output of warm mist. However, we found it to be just marginally warmer than mist from a conventional ultrasonic humidifier; room temperature at best. It's worth noting that you can't turn off this heating feature.

Beyond that, you can add a few drops of essential oil to the aromatherapy tray for a scented mist.

The Objecto H4 also has an auto-off function that turns the unit off once it runs out of water. You can toggle between three levels of misting intensity and two timer presets.

This humidifier's efficiency is poor. It has an onboard heating system, which heats the water inside the device to 140F (60C) to sterilize it. The heating element runs constantly while the humidifier is in use, and you can't turn it off, resulting in much higher power consumption than conventional ultrasonic cool-mist humidifiers.

This humidifier's overall efficiency falls within the norm for an ultrasonic unit. Its heating system doesn't result in a warm mist. It's best used in warmer, drier climates instead of colder areas, where the cooling effect of its mist will drop the ambient temperature and make your heating system work a little harder than usual.
