Mixed experience

In general, the web designer is affordable and easy to use. But it has some fundamental issues, such as the phone version always needs updating as it does really odd stuff...

I've had Hostinger for a year and had my email inaccessible multiple times, which has been really frustrating. This time it's been going on for more than 7 hours, which is just wild for a email platform! Not very reliable.

Harassing

I don't know anything about this company but they will not stop emailing me to try and sell their services. I have been ignoring their emails for months, but still they email and each time from a different email address. Super sketchy!

Ghosted me

Had a very odd experience with this company. After getting a PIV unit installed in 2024, I reached out for the annual service. All fine, replied quickly to emails, got a date booked in. No one shows. A month later, no one has responded to any of my emails. I find a phone number and call. Someone answers, very annoyed, saying that I should call when he is working, as he's now in Disneyland Paris... Says he will look into it and get back to me when he returns. A week later, still nothing. Really frustrated as I don't even have paperwork on what type of unit I have!

That's not even to mention the really dodgy installation that includes a cheap metal hook screwed in, with a literal piece of string holding the unit up...

Scam

Scam! Policy states if you cancel within two weeks you will get a refund. Not only did I not get a refund, when I then requested one later they refused to issue it. Did not find a single job to apply for through the site, very limited options and generic events. Not a helpful platform.

Work disappeared

I spent hours making a photo book, kept it open on my computer for a few days, then went back to order it. I kept getting errors and was told that I had deleted it and they couldn't recover it. I never deleted it and had to find another website to start over.

Don't uphold their bookings

Booked an appointment one month in advance through book my garage. Called the day before my appointment And they claimed to have no idea about it and couldn't see me for one week (after my mot is already expired....). When I called book my garage they said that the confirmation email had been sent to them and they'd even open the email! They refuse to apologise or take any responsibility for the fact that I am now scrambling to try to get an MOT appointment in time.

Not an actual booking company

Booked an MOT over a month in advance. Called the company the day before and they said they didn't have an appointment. Wasn't told by this company that the appointments aren't guaranteed. When I called they basically said tough luck! Now means I can't get my MOT done in time. Don't use this website!!

Great idea but not as easy to use

I absolutely love that this website lets you support small businesses. However, I had a lot of issues with it. Sometimes it was almost impossible to post a certain item -- it often wouldn't recognise the link or the picture I'd upload. It wasn't as straightforward or easy to use as I would have liked and there were many times the website wouldn't load at all. I had others say this to me as well. Frustrating, as it's a great concept, just hope they can fix the funcionality!

Don't care about quality of service

Have had an awful experience with Tesco Mobile over the past year. They do have very quick customer service, which I've appreciated in the past, but on this occasion we first had awful service for over a year. Every time I called they confirmed there was an issue and that we would be reimbursed for it. Then, my phone was not working at all, dropping every call over and over -- an absolute nightmare. I called over and over, and finally requested a new sim card, which fixed the problem! It turned out they were supposed to have given me a new sim card 8 months previously, according to their records. When the issues were both finally resolved, I kept asking about compensation -- they gave me £10 worth of Tesco clubcard points (which I never received), and refused to give us any further compensation. I honestly couldn't believe it. For over 1.5 years of terrible service and nearly a year of a sim card that was broken, £10! For such a massive company, it's so incredibly cheap of them. I will be switching phone companies asap.

Do not use this company

Do not use this company! We found them through a charity list, did the will, mailed it back, then... Nothing. For months we are told the will was not received and told we now have to pay lots of fees, despite being told it's all free and we just need to donate to the charity. After months of hassle it's clear this is a scam to get money out of people going through the charity arm. Beyond fed up and they are not threatening to charge us for cancelling the will!

Just to clarify based on the response: we were told to donate to the animal charity of our chose and donated over £100 to pawprints to freedom. Pretty shocked by the nasty reply.

You're right, on here I've written several negative reviews but my Google reviews are more mixed. I love supporting good small businesses but yours has clearly tried to scam us out of money and is now unwilling to take any responsibility.

It’s you who have scammed the charity by falsely promising a donation in return for a will. Not high quality, breaks quickly

So disappointed. For the really high price expected a much higher quality product. The case is very flimsy as others have said. The grip is really thick and awkward and mine broke after just six months. When I asked for a refund they said they could only give me a replacement since apparently the warranty is only 90 days -- really short for such a pricey supposedly sustainable product. Definitely wouldn't recommend the product unless they improve the durability and sustainability. Better to buy a (cheaper) plastic product that will last a long time.

Shoes break quickly, no way to use warranty or speak to a human

I have been a loyal Hoka fan for years and have gotten many others to use their shoes. However, my shoes repeatedly wear out in the back After 6-9 months. I have been emailing Hoka dozens of times about this for four months. I've tried calling (the only number I could find doesn't work). So, despite being under warranty, there's no way for me to use the warranty. For such expensive shoes, they shouldn't be wearing out so quickly. No more Hokas for me, really awful that you can't get any support or even use the warranty! Considering reporting the company for not upholding customers rights.

Poor work, endless delays, and lies

Hiring Bau UK for two jobs was a total nightmare.

We dealt with more than a month of delays and cancellations, poor workmanship and errors, and absolutely zero accountability or acknowledgement of any of the issues. The company doing our heat pump has had to get involved to chase John and try to get him to do what we agreed he would.

We asked John about the bad reviews they have online before hiring him and he managed to give me sufficient excuses to make it seem he hadn’t done anything wrong... Now, after hiring him, it’s clear this is a pattern of behaviour and we had the exact same issues others have described.

When we originally hired Bau UK, we were very clear that we had a deadline for the work to be completed and were guaranteed it would be. However, after drilling holes in our outer walls, the insulation was not actually installed for 5.5 weeks. This means that we had rain getting into our walls and the house was much colder... during an energy crisis! They also left a huge pile of rubbish on our garden during this entire time.

During this time, we heard every excuse, including that John had somehow failed to notice an entire wall of our house, meaning that he would need to get scaffolding. I wasted many days when I was told they would come, only to keep chasing all day with little reply and only realising they weren’t coming when I had not heard from them by the end of the day. Many delays were due to (we were told) waiting for deliveries for things they needed to do our insulation, in addition to other jobs that needed to get done despite being told they were coming to ours... but we heard every other excuse as well.

The main phone number does not work – no one answers or calls back and the main email is only responded to when they give an invoice; they ignored all our other communications. Everything goes through John and when he doesn’t have good news, he tends to stop replying. For the last two weeks he ignored nearly all of my calls and once only responded to my texts after he accidentally sent me a text meant for someone else...

Worst of all, the work itself was done very poorly and messily. There is literally insulation pouring into my living room, bedroom, office and all over my front and back gardens. It is everwhere. They overfilled one wall so there is a large crack going down it now. The bricks that were replaced were done so messily that there is now grout all over the front of the house (even one of his workers described John’s work on this as very poor.)

For the loft insulation, the boards are inserted with two or three screws (despite the legs stating they need eight) and in some cases the single top screw doesn’t even go into the loft leg, so they are completely unattached!

When raising all of these issues, all we got were endless excuses and defensiveness. We have sent multiple emails which have been ignored, demanding full payment to receive the certificates we need to prove the work was completed.

In my experience of dealing with John, he lied to me many, many times and even when caught in a lie, he still doubled down. He also seemed to only care about or acknowledge inconvenience to himself and never once acknowledged or apologised for the issues. Customer service (or even common decency) were non-exist. He even tried to claim to trustpilot that he doesn't know what I'm taking about / that I'm a customer (despite me having lots of proof to the contrary, hence why the review is still here...)

He also took every opportunity to try to take on more work, including giving us very incorrect information about a window we needed replaced (thank goodness we didn’t hire him for that!) Even other workers who were here at the same time said he was very rude and arrogant with them and were shocked by his behaviour.

Since he has refused to acknowledge any issues or take any responsibility for his company, he also refused to give us any compensation for the huge cost of all the delays to us (not to mention the time and stress) and the poor work. We are having to file a formal complaint against his company.

You have left a negative review for the sole reason that you tried to bully us for a discount once work was complete. Once we refused you threw your toys out of the pram.
I knew from the beginning that you would be a nightmare customer and I only did the work as I was asked by a friend to do it. We had to rebook your job twice. Once because the van need maintenance which we have the documentation to prove it and the other because I broke my finger last Friday and we still made it on the Monday to complete. We noticed yesterday that you where also giving the other trade guys that were on site the run around. You’ve been an absolute nightmare from start to finish. There is actually such a thing as a bad customer and you are firmly in that bracket

I can't rave enough about this company

I can't rave enough about this company. They have done our air source heat pump and we have paid the deposit for solar panels. Every step of the way communication and customer service have been great. Any concerns, issues, etc. They respond right away. Did fantastic work and really just an all around great company. Even moved out install up a few weeks because they knew we didn't have any heat and did the whole thing incredibly quickly.
