Restrict access to only Gitlab Pages

Problem to solve

I want to give customers a login-based access to the published website content of gitlab Pages.

I.e. the website content should not be accessible without login.

However, the documentation suggests using Pages Access Control, which means giving the customers a guest account, meaning that they have access to a lot of other aspects of the project.

Is there a solution?
