Placeable Railroad Track
A downloadable mod
This is my placeable railroad tracks. I suggest using the Building Snap mod by DumpsterDave, it makes it much easier to line track up and to get the angles correct. Switches and signals can be changed by walking up to them and hitting their trigger, similar to a door trigger on a building. The yardShop prefab is specifically made for VEHICLE WORKSHOP V1.0.0.0 by Pascal Kautz. You can place the yardShop track down, then place his shop down with the rails lined up through the middle of the bays. I am working on a better and quicker way to place locomotives and rolling stock on the tracks.. I have finally rebuilt and included the Train Station and a new Platform! I hope you enjoy the new station, it includes working elevators at both ends! CHECK THE DEVLOG FOR NOTES ON WHAT WAS ADDED IN THE MOST RECENT UPDATE!! With the 1.3.0.5 update, you can now use with the animated object extend mod! with that mod enabled, all of the crossing guards will trigger automatically as trains cross them. Switches and crossovers will no longer change randomly with that mod enabled. This mod, like most of my mods is a WIP. I add stuff as I think of them and I am constantly tweaking and updating it. Hey, just downloaded the mod yesterday, I've been messing around trying to figure out why, but for some reason non of the train tracks pop up in the shop even though the mod shows up, and I have it selected. I'd love to use the trains, so any help would be amazing!
Running into issues trying to get locomotives to run together. When I use the follow me mod it always seems to put an AI driver in the lead and then i can't get them to move. Any advice on how to set up multiple locomotives? Absolutely love the mods! I have used them to build large rail networks on two 16X maps now.

I'm having trouble with the X crossing it keeps making the trucks jump the track please help
The diamond crossings require the animated object extend mod to work, otherwise it will not automatically switch for the locomotives

Anyone having issues placing the crossings close together. The fix is to change the collision mask of the trigger. Clear the current collision mask entry then only select bit 21 and 20 the hex code is "300000" you can do this in the giants editor (fyi not sure if it changes anything else but works for now). If getting overlap message just enable freemode or get place anywhere mod.

Interesting! I experimented with that, but at the end of the day I found that if I changed the collision mask then the crossing gates wouldnt trigger automatically? are they still functioning for you with the change?
They are! just small trigger areas

Hello! Having an issue in multiplayer where any track that is placed on my end of my friends server the track is lined up on my end but not on his and vise versa. also any track that doesnt line up for me the collisions of the rail still work just fine, just sucks that i cant place any rail
I tried the X crossing and it didn't work and the crossing gates can't work with each other they clash same with the X rail crossing
Hi, I have a question about how to use the railroad bridge.
Firstly, when I try to cross a body of water with the bridge, the pieces of the bridge don't line up properly to be able to make a longer bridge than just the length of 1 piece, how do I fix that?
Secondly, if I put tracks on the bridge it either destroys the body of water by leveling everything with gravel, or if I turn on "toggle-free" to prevent the gravel, I also lose my leveling as I can't get the tracks at the exact same height on the other side of the water.
Hey there really love all of your train mods but really wanna get em into FS25 is there anything I can do to help? never done any modding but am happy to learn if that will help you to update them to move them into 25,
I do know how to play around in xml a lil.
It's *really* hard to convert mods from 22 to 25 from what I've heard. You would have to: Redo lots of textures, get new sounds, and more. Here's a quick guide I found: Bestof luck with ya.
The crossing guards worked fine as of yesterday with no issues. I could place one on each side that the traffic was flowing like a normal traffic guard. (1 one the left and then 1 on the right side) But, today when I went to put them down. The first one would place directly to the ground. But now when I go to place the second crossing guard it is telling me that there is an object in the way and it automatically goes up in the air. I tried to place the crossing guard anyways to see if it would drop down to the ground. But it places up in the air. I have to go a pretty good distance away before it will stop saying there is something in the way and it will drop back down to the ground and let me place it like normal. I did the update but that did not fix it. Do you know what may be causing this and how to fix it? Thanks
Yeah I do, unfortunately that is caused by the extended animation object mod. the way that it works, it causes a collision on the trigger that turns the signals on. I tried to change everything in my mod to see if it would negate it, butt there is nothing I can do to fix it. So, the fix is to just disable that mod while building and placing stuff, then enable it when youre ready to run trains!
just wondering if you had any plans to bring the trains and all of that to fs25 loved the back in fs22
What is the angle of the switches? Trying to set up a bit of a weird section of track and want to match angles. Thanks for your hard work! One of the best mods of 22!
Sorry Serious, didnt see you! the regular switches, crossovers, and all yards use the 20M 10 degree curves. the "speed" switches and crossovers use two 20M 5 degree curves that overlap, so they are basically 7.5 degree curves.
how do i get the crossing guards to work
the crossing guards will come down automatically if you are using the animated object extend mod! or if not, you can walk up close to them and trigger them on or off

Love the mods. This really scratches my farming, truck and train itch. I do have a few questions: are you able to make the rail joints snap together on the ends to help with the leveling of the track, to prevent 'popping off the rails? Perhaps something that could be turned on or off depending on what's needed. Could the track sections be smooth but just look like they have ties to prevent the cars from hopping? Can the font on the number '1' for locomotives be scaled differently?

I have tried to find some way of making the tracks snappable.. I was able to get them to snap together using the same scripting as the snap script for in game bunkers. however, it only worked in a straight line.. so it wouldnt be helpful for curves and isnt any more helpful then the building snap.
I have actually implemented your second idea! in the next track update, the rails will have collisions, but all of the railroad ties will only be visual. I did this to 1 reduce the number of collisions computers are having to make (it seemed to help some, not as much as I was hoping for) and 2 to reduce the bouncing. Again it helped, but not as much as I had hoped.. But its definitely an improvement!
for the number 1, it is scaled the same as all of the other numbers with the same font and everything.. it just looks a little different because of the spacing I think.. maybe at some point I will figure out how to make it look better by adjusting the spacing, but it would have to be specifically for the 1 and only for it.. I will see what I can do
hey jweezy, I'm curious do the train textures sometimes glitch out for you when you install new mods? every time i install a new mod the textures go pixelized. it happens most with buildings. but when i uninstall your mods it fixes everything. have any idea why this is?

However i have very many issues with de-railing..
Going 15kph in a turn or sometimes even on a straight piece of track the the train and carts derails.
I have the rain and carts unfolded. Anything im missing or doing wrong you think?

Glad you like it! It sounds like you might have issues with uneven track. All of the track must be placed at the same height, so sometimes it is best to level the ground before placing any track. You also must make sure the tracks are aligned properly. I can hit 100mph on straights easily with the amtrak locos and I can take any train around 90 degree bends at 30mph with no issues
where is the auto rack loader i cannot seem to find it?
why does the railroad crossing cause an invisible hitbox above is that causes me not being able to place more anywhere near it?
If youre having issues with that, disable the animated object extend mod while placing, then re-enable it while playing. That mod is what causes that issue
the issue still persists even when i deleted the mod, the crossing make a really long hitbox that cause me not being able to place it on ground level
Hmmm.. It could be the map? what map are you on? do gates and doors open automatically on that map
i have the issue to. it is with all maps including your save.
How are people getting the train turntable placed? I have the base circle down but then how does the actual turntable get moved into position? I have a teleport mod so was able to move the turntable local to the base, but no idea how next to prcede. Superstrength doesn't seem to be strong enough, i'm using the easy dev tool version. Help in any way would be appreciated. Thanks.
I suggest using the lumberjack mod! that mod has the ability to set the strength to infinite, making it capable of lifting the turntable
is there any way you could make any smaller bridges that work with the incline tracks? its pretty hard to find something that works with the tracks

Hello. Just to start. I absolutely love your mods. I re-downloaded fs22 to trial your mods and I've loved them all. I'm only just now playing with the animated mod with the signals and having difficulty with how far the triggers are but I'm sure I will work around it. But I do have to ask, is there a future plan on bringing this to fs25? As the one set of mods keeping me on fs22 are yours and would love to use them in the newer game. Keep up the good work :)
Howdy, thank you so much! glad you are enjoying them so much! as far as the signals, I know have different signals for different speeds. the Yard Speed signals, you have to be much closer before they activate. the normal ones are for mainline speed and activate further out.
As far as FS25, yes I have every intention of bringing them to FS25 at some point! I dont currently own FS25 yet, but at some point I will convert everything to FS25

would be great to use all these on fs25 so I look forward to them being ported across :) one mod that would make a good addition to the trains would be a Crane carriage. I use the train to transport equipment and machines around the map so this would be good to have.
please please please we cant wait for you to get the wonderful work with those trains and put them on fs 25 we will go crazy. this is one of the BEST mods pack that set fs in a new direction that makes the game more exciting and worth playing.. NO ONE can do it like you.

Hey Jweezy. I have a problem with the crossing gates. whenever i place a single one down, it will no longer let me place them of the ground, and all subsequent crossing signals are floating, and sometimes bring the ground up to them. what do i do, or what can you do, to rectify this?
Unfortunately there is nothing I can do to rectify that, as it is caused by the animated object extend mod. So luckily there is an easy fix! just disable the animated object extend mod while you are placing tracks and such, and then reactivate that mod when you are done building and are ready to run trains. enjoy!

I find your mods perfect to play with, but now that I play with the map FS22_DondiegoMap I saw that the rail that was already there is the same as yours but I can't put trains on it. It doesn't stay on the rails but tilts. Any idea how this can happen? Saves me laying down rails :-)
Thank you! as for the rails already on the map, I cant say for sure as I have not played that map. But it sounds like the rails might be a bit different than my rails unfortunately, does it do that with all Locomotives and rolling stock?
Tried that too but unfortunately. FS22_DondiegoMap map is a nice map only when I want to put a harpor crane there I get that there is no place. even on a large field where there can be 10 I get that message. only at the right place at the shop it is possible. I just went to Pacific NW Farming map. nice map and simple.

Yes if you dont use animated object extension mod then you can turn the crossing gates on and off manually. I am not sure how the diamonds work manually tho.. You might have to switch it back and forth if youre not going to use that mod

when selecting mods before loading the game, just deselect the animated object extend mod

Hi JWeezy I am loving your mods, and you have done great work on these mods, but I have a question about the crossing gates. I have autodrive on a grain truck that goes to the silo, and one of the routes it takes is a crossing from there and back. The gates will automatically close on the worker and it wont go thru. Is there an option for it to not turn on automatically, and so I don't have to go turn them off manually. Please and Thank you

yes I totally understand your issue. Unfortunately, from digging into the coding and with my limited knowledge of coding, there is no way to make the gates only “trigger” with a specific collision mask. It appears that the coding is looking for any collision mask operated by the user. I could maybe make an option where you could go around and turn the auto sensor “off” on the crossing gates by lowering the trigger area below the ground? But then you would still have to turn it back on before it would function for the train, which would be the same as just turning it on and off for the train.. I wish I could do more, butt for now I recommend just disabling the animated object extension mod when driving vehicles, and enabling for train driving.

Thank you for your kind words! yes I will bring it to FS25 at some point, but I agree from what I have seen, FS25 is not polished and complete yet. I still have a few major updates for FS22 coming soon hopefully! I have just been super busy with family and the holidays
I'm glad to hear that you are panning on developing this for FS25 too. I wasn't planning on playing on Hutan Pantai but that map is really nice and the railroad has a nice stub to connect a local rail line to.

Im having trouble using multiplayer with this addon. Is it compatible with multiplayer.
I dont see why they wouldnt be compatible in mutliplayer.. and i know AJ Deere uses them a lot in multiplayer. but I dont play multiplayer so I have no way of testing them in MP.. so what issues are you experiencing with them

hey Jweezy, i got this mod along with your rolling stock and locomotives mod and the track doesn't show up anywhere for me to place. if i go to build moe, decoration, fence and scroll to the bottom i see a tunnel and a dragable track which doesnt really work. how do i get the real track?
yeah got the same problem in fact fs don't even see the Placeable Railroad Track and the Railroad Rolling Stock

Yeah I was wondering if it was too expensive.. I wanted it to be expensive because building a railroad tunnel in real life is obviously not cheap, but it might be a bit too much as it is. I will look into it more!

I fell like it should be pretty expensive to install a rail tunnel.. But, it is also expensive to do the landscaping if you dont use free landscaping.. I will think about it some more
