Abstract
La invención comprende un dispositivo alargado adaptado para su inserción, incluyendo la auto-inserción, a través del cuerpo, especialmente del cráneo. El dispositivo tiene al menos un efector o sensor y está configurado para permitir la implantación de múltiples componentes funcionales a través de un solo sitio de entrada hacia el cráneo al dirigir los componentes en diferentes ángulos. El dispositivo se puede usar para proporcionar terapia eléctrica, magnética, y otras terapias de estimulación al cerebro de un paciente. Las longitudes de los efectores, sensores y otros componentes, pueden atravesar completamente el grosor del cráneo (en un ángulo diagonal) para apenas sobresalir a través de la corteza cerebral. Los componentes pueden hacer contacto directo con la corteza cerebral, pero desde ahí, sus señales se pueden dirigir a objetivos más profundos dentro del cerebro.
