Abstract

polinucleotideo, proteina, vetor, orgamsmo transformado, métodos para produzir um lipídeo ou ácido graxo, para produzir um alimento, uma droga ou um material industrial, para avaliar a capacidade de formação de ácido graxo de um fungo de teste produtor de lipídeo, e para selecionar um fungo produtor de lipídeo, e, alimento, droga ou industrial material a presente invenção proporciona ácido-graxo-sintetases quesão responsáveis pela síntese de ácido graxo novo, polinucleotídeos quecodificam tais ácido-graxo-sintetases (e.g., um polinucleotídeo compreendendo (a) um polinucleotídeo consistindo da seqüência de nucleotídeos de posições 1 a 12486 de seq id no: 1, ou (b) um polinucleotídeo que hibridiza sob condições estringentes em um polinucleotídeo compreendendo uma seqúência de nucleotídeos complementar à seqúéncia de nucleotídeos de posições 1 a 12486 de seq id no: 1, e que codifica uma proteína possuindo uma atividade de ácido-graxo-sintetase, vetores de expressão e transformantes compreendendo tais polinucleotídeos, métodos para produzir alimento e outros produtos usando tais transformantes, produtos alimentícios produzidos por tais métodos, e métodos para avaliar e selecionar fungos de teste produtores de lipídeo.
