Abstract
Système et méthode pour détecter l'activité de déglutition. Concrètement, la méthode comprend la réception d'un signal électronique d'un accéléromètre qui représente l'activité de déglutition, extrayant au moins deux caractéristiques du signal, classifiant le signal en tant que type d'activité de déglutition sur la base des caractéristiques extraites, et générant une sortie de la classification. Les activités exemplaires comprennent les déglutitions, les aspirations, les artéfacts de mouvement et vocaux. En indiquant si une activité est une déglutition ou une aspiration, la manière selon laquelle un patient, affligé par une vraisemblance accrue des aspirations, est alimenté, peut être réglée pour augmenter la vraisemblance d'effectuer une déglutition au lieu d'une aspiration pendant l'alimentation. Alternativement ceci peut réduire les hospitalisations pour pneumonie par aspiration chez les patients avec blessures aiguës ou chroniques.
