Abstract

Description
本发明涉及包含硅烷化胶态二氧化硅颗粒和丙烯酸酯基基料的水性油漆分散体,制备这类分散体的方法及其用途。
发明背景
水基油漆分散体的膜形成由聚合物颗粒的聚结进行。在水蒸发期间,聚合物颗粒彼此接近,变形且形成聚合物颗粒的聚合物大分子链相互扩散以形成理想的连续干膜。聚结方法的不同步骤主要受表面张力支配。膜形成—颗粒的聚结—仅在毛细力(与分散介质的表面张力成比例)高于变形力(与聚合物的机械性质相关)并横向(外部至内部)且垂直(顶部至底部)进展时发生。该特定进展模式促进在油漆顶部形成干聚合物薄皮。该薄皮是油漆施涂期间出现的缺陷的起源。可通过降低聚结期间的表面张力或通过减缓膜形成过程的其他现象引起水基油漆的开放时间增加。
赋予增加的开放时间的油漆组合物是本领域中已知的,例如降低表面张力的含有含氟表面活性剂的组合物。由于氟基表面活性剂相当低降低表面张力,出现发泡及其他问题,例如伴随聚结以及因此的膜形成的多种问题。
理想的是提供延长开放时间使得可更便利地施涂油漆,特别是不存在任何其他出现问题,例如表面张力降低和/或发泡问题的分散体。开放时间为可在先前涂漆区域对油漆再加工的可用时间。开放时间是涂层的关键性能特性,对刷涂而言特别如此。因此可更便利地且灵活地施涂装饰性油漆。
理想的还有提供稳定油漆分散体。特别地,理想地提供可易于储存和运输而不具有沉淀或凝胶化的分散体。理想的还有提供产生该分散体的便利且便宜方法。本发明的目的是提供同时使环境影响最小化,例如避免溶剂基油漆的这类分散体。另外,理想的是维持或缩短油漆在施涂于基材上以后的干燥时间。
发明
本发明涉及制备水性油漆分散体的方法,所述方法包括将硅烷化胶态二氧化硅颗粒和丙烯酸酯基基料混合,其中SiO2与丙烯酸酯基基料的重量比基于干重为0.02-0.2,且其中硅烷化胶态二氧化硅颗粒以这样的量混合以致通过XRF测量所述分散体中SiO2的含量为1.05-7.5重量%,其中存在于硅烷化胶态二氧化硅颗粒中的硅烷基团衍生自含有环氧基、缩水甘油氧基、缩水甘油氧基丙基的硅烷;基于脲基的硅烷、甲基丙烯酰胺基硅烷、巯基硅烷及其组合。
SiO2含量通过XRF(X射线荧光),优选用Philips Magix PW2424分光计测量。优选,本发明测量二氧化硅含量的方法如下:试样制备通过用Li2B4O7将试样熔融成玻璃珠粒进行。如果碳含量高,则在熔融以前将试样在空气中加热。参比试样以相同方法通过使用认证标准制备。使用XRF量化SiO2如下进行:用由Rh管产生的γ辐射照射试样,然后通过PhilipsMagix DW2424分光计测量试样发射的荧光辐射的量。减少扩散的最佳试样制备为使用例如Li2B4O7将试样熔融成玻璃珠粒。荧光的量通过使用基于16个尤其来自British ChemicalStandards(BCS)和National Bureau of Standards(NBS)的不同认证标准建立的校准测量。优选在加入任何其他组分以前测量硅烷化胶态二氧化硅颗粒的SiO2含量。术语“分散体”还意指包括乳化的所存在组分如丙烯酸系乳液树脂,所述组分可借助乳化剂乳化。
优选,将如下所述其他组分加入形成的分散体中。关于组分给出的量基于最终所得油漆分散体的重量含量。因此,最终油漆分散体包含这类重量含量的各组分。
优选,分散剂/润湿剂以基于油漆分散体0.05-2,最优选0.1-1.0重量%的量加入。合适的分散剂包括聚硅氧烷。
优选,聚结剂/增塑剂以基于油漆分散体0.5-5,更优选1-3重量%的量加入。可使用二醇和二醇醚,优选二醇醚。
优选,消泡剂以基于油漆分散体0.05-1,最优选0.1-0.3重量%的量加入。合适的消泡剂包括聚硅氧烷。
优选,颜料以基于油漆分散体5-40,最优选10-25重量%的量加入。合适的颜料包括无机颜料如二氧化钛、铁氧化物(红色、黄色、褐色和黑色)、氧化锌、铬颜料、群青颜料、钴颜料(钴蓝),和有机颜料,例如偶氮颜料。
优选,填料如结晶二氧化硅、粘土(硅酸铝)或碳酸钙可以以基于油漆分散体5-40,最优选10-25重量%的量加入。
优选,增稠剂以基于油漆分散体0.1-3,最优选0.3-1.5重量%的量加入。合适的增稠剂包括聚氨酯以及EHEC和HEC纤维素基增稠剂。
优选,分散剂以基于分散体0.1-3,最优选0.3-1重量%的量加入。合适的分散剂包括阴离子表面活性剂。
优选,用于流动和流平性能的流变改进剂以基于分散体0.1-3,最优选0.3-1重量%的量加入。合适的流变改进剂包括非离子表面活性剂,例如Surfynol 104(2,4,7,9-四甲基-5-癸炔-4,7-二醇)。
优选,杀生物剂以基于分散体10-500ppm,最优选20-200ppm(作为100%杀生物剂)的量加入。将构成油漆分散体的组分在室温下适当地混合,但在研磨基料中研磨/分散颜料期间可能产生热。优选,首先制备研磨基料,随后向其中加入调漆。通常,在研磨基料中,加入分散剂、消泡剂、颜料和增稠剂。除基料以外,通常向加入研磨基料中的调漆中加入聚结剂、增稠剂、流变改进剂、消泡剂和杀生物剂。
硅烷化胶态二氧化硅颗粒可通过如现有技术如WO2004/035474所述的任何方法得到。硅烷和胶态二氧化硅颗粒的混合连续地,优选在约20至约95,更优选约50至约75,最优选约60至约70℃的温度下进行。优选,将硅烷在约60℃的温度下并以可控速率在强力搅拌下加入二氧化硅颗粒中,所述可控速率适当地为约0.01至约100,优选约0.1至约10,更优选约0.5至约5,最优选约1至约2个硅烷分子每nm2胶态二氧化硅表面积(胶态二氧化硅颗粒上)和小时。取决于加入速率、待加入的硅烷的量和所需硅烷化程度,硅烷的加入可持续任何合适时间。然而,硅烷的加入优选持续至多5小时,更优选至多2小时,直至已加入合适量的硅烷。加入胶态二氧化硅颗粒中的硅烷的重量量为约0.1至约6,优选约0.3至约3,最优选约1至约2个硅烷分子每nm2胶态二氧化硅颗粒表面积。硅烷连续加入胶粒中在制备具有至多约80重量%的二氧化硅含量的高浓缩硅烷化硅溶胶时可能特别重要。然而,二氧化硅含量适当地为约20至约80,优选约25至约70,最优选约30至约60重量%。优选,硅烷化胶态二氧化硅颗粒具有基于分散体15-60,最优选25-50重量%的干含量。
优选将胶态二氧化硅颗粒和硅烷混合以产生具有约0.01至约1.5,更优选约0.05至约1,或者约0.10至约0.5,最优选0.15-0.30的硅烷:二氧化硅重量比的硅烷化胶态二氧化硅颗粒。
优选,在将硅烷化合物与胶态二氧化硅颗粒混合以前,将硅烷化合物适当地以约1:8至约8:1,优选约3:1至约1:3,最优选约1.5:1至约1:1.5的重量比,优选用水稀释以形成硅烷与水的预混料。所得硅烷-水溶液是基本清澈且稳定的,且容易与胶态二氧化硅颗粒混合。在将硅烷连续加入胶态二氧化硅颗粒中时,在停止硅烷的添加以后优选继续混合约1秒至约30分钟,优选约1分钟至约10分钟。混合可以在约1至约13,优选约6至约12,更优选约7.5至约11,最优选约9至约10.5的pH下进行。为提供油漆分散体的所述SiO2含量,可加入必要量的水以稀释硅烷化胶态二氧化硅颗粒的含量。由此可得到水性油漆分散体。优选制备稳定分散体。术语“稳定”在“稳定分散体”的上下文中意指该分散体在15-25℃的温度下在至少一年的时间内不会凝胶化。
优选,在15-25℃的温度下储存时,分散体粘度的相对提高在其制备以后1年为低于20%。
优选,胶态二氧化硅颗粒通过使源自如下的聚硅酸聚合而制备:具有足够纯度的水玻璃、沉淀二氧化硅、微硅粉(硅灰)、热解二氧化硅(熏硅)或硅胶及其混合物,最优选水玻璃。
本发明胶态二氧化硅颗粒可改性,并可包含可存在于颗粒和/或连续相中的其他元素,例如胺、铝和/或硼。硼改性的硅溶胶描述于例如US 2,630,410中。铝改性的二氧化硅颗粒适当地具有约0.05至约3重量%,优选约0.1至约2重量%的Al2O3含量。制备铝改性的硅溶胶的程序进一步描述于例如“The Chemistry of Silica”,Iler,K.Ralph,第407-409页,John Wiley&Sons(1979)和US 5368833中。
硅烷化二氧化硅颗粒的胶态二氧化硅颗粒适当地具有2-150nm,优选3-50nm,更优选5-40nm,最优选约7至约12nm的平均粒径。适当地,胶态二氧化硅颗粒具有约20至约1500,优选约50至约900,更优选约70至约600m2/g,最优选约200至约400m2/g的比表面积。
胶态二氧化硅颗粒优选具有窄粒度分布,即低粒度相对标准偏差。粒度分布的相对标准偏差为粒度分布的标准偏差对平均粒径的数值比率。粒度分布的相对标准偏差优选为低于约60数值%,更优选低于约30数值%,最优选低于约15数值%。
优选将硅烷化胶态二氧化硅颗粒优选在稳定化阳离子如K+、Na+、Li+、NH4 +、有机阳离子、伯、仲、叔和季胺或其混合物的存在下分散于水相中以形成含水硅溶胶。优选,胶态二氧化硅颗粒为带负电的。合适地,未改性溶胶中的二氧化硅含量为约20至约80,优选约25至约70,最优选约30至约60重量%。二氧化硅含量越高,所得硅烷化胶态二氧化硅分散体更浓。硅溶胶的pH适当地为约1至约13,优选约6至约12,最优选约7.5至约11。然而,对于铝改性的硅溶胶,pH适当地为约1至约12,优选约3.5至约11。
硅溶胶优选具有约20至约100,更优选约30至约90,最优选约60至约90的S值。
发现S值在这些范围内的分散体可改进所得分散体的稳定性。S值表征胶态二氧化硅颗粒的聚集程度,即聚集体或微凝胶形成的程度。已测量并根据J.Phys.Chem.60(1956),955-957,Iler,R.K.&Dalton,R.L中给出的公式计算S值。
S值取决于胶态二氧化硅颗粒的二氧化硅含量、粘度和密度。高S值表示低微凝胶含量。S值表示存在于例如硅溶胶的分散相中的以重量%表示的SiO2量。可在制备方法期间控制微凝胶的程度,如例如US 5368833中所进一步描述。
在胶态二氧化硅颗粒的表面上,硅烷化合物可与硅醇基团形成稳定共价硅氧键(Si-O-Si),或通过例如氢键结连接在硅醇基团上。因此,通过该方法,将二氧化硅颗粒表面改性。
优选,存在于硅烷化胶态二氧化硅颗粒中的硅烷基团衍生自含有环氧基、缩水甘油氧基、缩水甘油氧基丙基及其组合的硅烷,最优选硅烷基团衍生自含有环氧基的硅烷。

可使用胶乳和/或水溶性树脂和丙烯酸酯基基料的聚合物。术语“丙烯酸酯基基料”意指包括例如聚丙烯酸和聚甲基丙烯酸,以及丙烯酸酯的共聚物,例如乙烯丙烯酸共聚物或苯乙烯-丙烯酸聚合物、氨基甲酸酯的丙烯酸和/或甲基丙烯酸共聚物。
优选,硅烷化胶态二氧化硅颗粒的分散体与丙烯酸酯基基料以基于干重0.04-0.20,更优选0.05-0.15,最优选0.08-0.11的SiO2:丙烯酸酯基基料重量比混合。
优选,将组分在中等温度,适当地约15至约35℃,优选约20至约30℃下混合。优选,将组分混合约10秒至约1小时,更优选约1分钟至约10分钟。如果需要的话,将硅烷化胶态二氧化硅颗粒的分散体稀释以将二氧化硅含量调整至合适的水平。
本发明还涉及可通过该方法得到的包含硅烷化胶态二氧化硅颗粒和丙烯酸酯基基料的水性油漆分散体。
本发明进一步涉及包含硅烷化胶态二氧化硅颗粒和丙烯酸酯基基料的水性油漆分散体,其中SiO2与丙烯酸酯基基料的重量比基于干重为0.02-0.2,且其中油漆分散体中的SiO2含量通过XRF测量为1.05-7.5重量%,其中存在于硅烷化胶态二氧化硅颗粒中的硅烷基团衍生自含有环氧基、缩水甘油氧基、缩水甘油氧基丙基的硅烷;基于脲基的硅烷、甲基丙烯酰胺基硅烷、巯基硅烷及其组合。
优选,SiO2与丙烯酸酯基基料的重量比基于干重为0.04-0.2,优选0.05-0.15,最优选0.08-0.11。
优选,油漆分散体具有1.3-7.5,更优选1.3-4.5,最优选2.0-3.0重量%的SiO2含量。
丙烯酸酯基基料优选以胶乳的形式存在。优选,包含丙烯酸酯基基料和硅烷化胶态二氧化硅颗粒的水性油漆分散体的总固体含量为35-80,优选45-75,更优选50-65重量%,最优选51-55重量%。
根据一个优选实施方案,硅烷化胶态二氧化硅颗粒和丙烯酸酯基基料作为离散颗粒存在于分散体中。分散体优选进一步包含如上文所述的量的其它组分。该分散体可进一步包含通常所指定量的如上文所述其它组分。硅烷化胶态二氧化硅颗粒和丙烯酸酯基基料可具有如制备所述油漆分散体的方法所述性能。
分散体的稳定性促进其在任何使用中的处理和施涂,因为它允许储存且不需在即将使用前现场制备。该分散体在它不包含危险量的毒性组分的意义上而言是有益的。
本发明还涉及油漆分散体在任何基材,优选硬基材如于砖、瓷砖,矿物如石头或砂石,木材,金属表面如钢或铝,塑料,陶瓷、胶结材料、玻璃、瓷器,最优选木材上的用途。本发明油漆分散体的合适基材不包含软表面如纺织品、织物和纸。
因此描述了本发明,但显然可以多种方式改变本发明。这些改变不视为偏离本发明的主旨及范围,且如本领域技术人员了解的所有这类修改意欲包括在权利要求书的范围内。尽管下文实施例提供了反应的更具体细节,此处可公开以下一般原理。以下实施例进一步阐述可如何执行所述本发明而不限制其范围。
如果未另外描述,所有份和百分数指重量份和重量%。
实施例-油漆制备
如表1所述水性油漆配制剂参比油漆和油漆A-H在室温下通过首先提供已研磨并借助KDV 30-3.0型高速Kreis溶解器(Niemann)(2240rpm,30分钟)分散的组分1-7的研磨基料而制备。关于所用组分的解释可在表2中找到。随后在分散并以1000rpm温和搅拌15分钟以后将包含组分8-14的调漆加入研磨基料中。如从下表1中可注意到,参比油漆不包含硅烷化胶态二氧化硅(Bindzil CC301),而其它油漆A-H包含加入调漆或研磨基料中(仅对于油漆B bis,加入研磨基料中)的Bindzil CC301。下表3显示所制备的油漆组合物的特征。

如从下表4中可注意到,太高的硅烷改性胶态二氧化硅(Bindzil CC 301)添加未产生延长的开放时间,但会降低油漆的固体含量,这是不理想的。例如,将20重量份BindzilCC301(基于产物)加入如表1所示配制剂中会产生49.3重量%的固体含量,这意指需要将额外部分的水蒸发。另外,高剂量的硅烷改性二氧化硅从费用观点看可能是不经济的。SiO2含量通过XRF测量和量化。用于测量本发明二氧化硅含量的方法如下:试样制备通过用Li2B4O7将试样熔融成玻璃珠粒进行。如果碳含量高,则在熔融以前将试样在空气中加热。参比试样以相同方法通过使用认证标准制备。使用XRF量化SiO2如下进行:用由Rh管产生的γ辐射照射试样,然后通过Philips Magix DW2424分光计测量试样发射的荧光辐射的量。减少扩散的最佳试样制备为使用例如Li2B4O7将试样熔融成玻璃珠粒。荧光的量通过使用基于16个尤其来自British Chemical Standards(BCS)和National Bureau of Standards(NBS)的不同认证标准建立的校准测量。

测量开放时间的该方法涵盖测定油漆保持足够“湿润”或“开放”以允许补刷和修补的时间长度的程序。该方法涉及经时间间隔(间隔=1分钟)在载入油漆时借助刷子对油漆表面再加工(来回刷涂10次),直至不能再加工。从表4中可注意到,将硅烷改性二氧化硅加入至研磨基料和调漆中的加入点似乎并不重要(参见油漆B和油漆B bis)。就i)可对油漆再加工且无任何可见缺陷的开放时间,和ii)直至油漆出现明显可见缺陷的开放时间二者而言,油漆C-H实现在开放时间方面的显著增强。
Claims (19)
1.包含硅烷化胶态二氧化硅颗粒和丙烯酸酯基基料的水性油漆分散体,其中SiO2与丙烯酸酯基基料的重量比基于干重为0.02-0.2,且其中所述分散体中的SiO2含量通过XRF测量为1.05-7.5重量%,其中存在于硅烷化胶态二氧化硅颗粒中的硅烷基团衍生自含有环氧基、缩水甘油氧基、缩水甘油氧基丙基的硅烷、基于脲基的硅烷、甲基丙烯酰胺基硅烷、巯基硅烷及其组合,且其中胶态二氧化硅颗粒通过源自水玻璃的聚硅酸聚合而制备,胶态二氧化硅颗粒为带负电的。
2.根据权利要求1的分散体,其中分散体在15-25℃的温度下保持稳定至少12个月。
3.根据权利要求1的分散体,其中分散体中的SiO2含量为1.3-5重量%。
4.根据权利要求2的分散体,其中分散体中的SiO2含量为1.3-5重量%。
5.根据权利要求1-4中任一项的分散体,其中分散体中的SiO2含量为1.3-4.5重量%。
6.根据权利要求1-4中任一项的分散体,其中分散体中的SiO2含量为2-3重量%。
7.根据权利要求1-4中任一项的分散体,其中分散体中的总干含量为45-75重量%。
8.根据权利要求1-4中任一项的分散体,其中硅烷化胶态二氧化硅颗粒的硅烷基团衍生自环氧硅烷。
9.根据权利要求5的分散体,其中硅烷化胶态二氧化硅颗粒的硅烷基团衍生自环氧硅烷。
10.根据权利要求7的分散体,其中硅烷化胶态二氧化硅颗粒的硅烷基团衍生自环氧硅烷。
11.根据权利要求1-4中任一项的分散体,其中分散体中的总干含量为50-65重量%。
12.根据权利要求5的分散体,其中分散体中的总干含量为50-65重量%。
13.根据权利要求1-4中任一项的分散体,其中SiO2含量通过XRF借助Philips MagixPW2424分光计测量。
14.制备水性油漆分散体的方法,其包括将硅烷化胶态二氧化硅颗粒和丙烯酸酯基基料混合,其中SiO2与丙烯酸酯基基料的重量比基于干重为0.02-0.2,其中硅烷化胶态二氧化硅颗粒以这样的量混合以致所述分散体中的SiO2含量通过XRF测量为1.05-7.5重量%,其中存在于硅烷化胶态二氧化硅颗粒中的硅烷基团衍生自含有环氧基、缩水甘油氧基、缩水甘油氧基丙基的硅烷、基于脲基的硅烷、甲基丙烯酰胺基硅烷、巯基硅烷及其组合,且其中胶态二氧化硅颗粒通过源自水玻璃的聚硅酸聚合而制备,胶态二氧化硅颗粒为带负电的。
15.根据权利要求14的方法,其中分散体中的SiO2含量为1.3-5重量%。
16.根据权利要求14或15的方法,其中分散体的总干含量为45-75重量%。
17.根据权利要求14或15的方法,其中存在于硅烷化胶态二氧化硅颗粒中的硅烷基团衍生自含有环氧基的硅烷。
18.根据权利要求16的方法,其中存在于硅烷化胶态二氧化硅颗粒中的硅烷基团衍生自含有环氧基的硅烷。
19.根据权利要求1-13中任一项的油漆分散体在砖、矿物、木材、金属表面、塑料、陶瓷、胶结材料、玻璃或瓷器的上漆中的用途。
